MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls just turned up the heat at Tokyo Game Show 2025 with a new gameplay showcase featuring Spider-Man and Ghost Rider in action for the first time.
The new footage expands on what was already revealed about the game’s 4v4 tag-team mechanics and introduces fan-favorite characters into the spotlight.
Spider-Man Swings In
Spider-Man plays exactly how fans would expect—fast, agile, and combo-heavy. He zips around the battlefield using web-slinging movement and executes multi-hit aerial chains that make him perfect for hit-and-run tactics or locking down opponents with relentless pressure. The animation is sharp and fluid, bringing out that classic comic book energy in a cel-shaded anime style.
Ghost Rider Brings the Fire
Ghost Rider enters the arena in the form of Robbie Reyes, complete with his Hell Charger. His gameplay style leans toward mid-to-close range combat, with chain-based attacks and fiery specials that engulf the screen. One of his supers unleashes his flaming car to run over enemies, setting up brutal follow-ups from teammates. His presence adds a darker, more aggressive tone to the roster.
Expanded Roster and Tag System
The demo revealed at TGS marks the first time players have seen more than six characters in action, now showcasing eight. The game’s 4v4 format allows players to bring in multiple team members throughout a match. Only one character is controlled at a time, while others serve as assists or can be swapped mid-battle to shift momentum and create new combo routes.
Stage Reveal: Savage Land
Also shown was a new stage—Savage Land—which includes multiple transition areas and interactive environments. Stage transitions can factor into strategy, with players needing to consider movement and spacing during chaotic team-based clashes.
