William Shatner is pushing back after a tabloid report claimed the Star Trek legend was hospitalized following a medical emergency at his Los Angeles home.
On Thursday morning, Shatner took to X to set the record straight.
“I over indulged. I thank you all for caring but I’m perfectly fine. I keep telling you all: don’t trust tabloids or AI!” tweeted the actor known for playing James Kirk in Star Trek.
NY Post Report
The New York Post, citing TMZ, reported that Shatner, 94, was rushed to a hospital on Wednesday afternoon after experiencing an issue with his blood sugar.
According to the outlet, he called emergency services himself before being taken in for evaluation. He was said to be “resting comfortably.”

Shatner’s Health
The actor, best known as Captain James T. Kirk on Star Trek, has been open about his health over the years. In 2024, he revealed he was treated for stage 4 melanoma, undergoing surgery and an aggressive immunotherapy regimen that he credited with saving his life. Shatner also suffers from permanent tinnitus, which he has linked to an on-set explosion while filming Star Trek in the 1960s.
Despite health scares, Shatner has remained active. At 90, he famously blasted off into space aboard Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin New Shepard mission in 2021, calling it a “profound experience.”
Shatner Stays Active
In recent months, Shatner has continued public appearances, including attending the Saturn Awards and being spotted out in Los Angeles. His quick post on X suggests he’s still going strong, even if he admits to having “over indulged.”
