Spider-Man: Brand New Day has added another major Marvel villain to its lineup. According to Deadline, Marvin Jones III has been cast as Tombstone, one of Spider-Man’s longtime foes.
The news comes as filming remains paused for a week following Tom Holland’s on-set concussion. Production is scheduled to resume on Monday, September 29.
Who Is Tombstone?
Created by Gerry Conway and Alex Saviuk, Tombstone — real name Lonnie Lincoln — first appeared in Web of Spider-Man #36 in 1988. He’s portrayed as an albino crime boss with sharpened teeth and skin tough enough to withstand most damage, making him a formidable opponent for Spidey. The character has appeared across comics, animation, and video games as one of New York’s nastiest underworld figures.
Jones is no stranger to the role — he previously voiced Tombstone in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and will reprise the part in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
