Despite all the rumors, Chris Evans again denies he will be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday.
While the supposed leaked 60-member cast includes Evans, and Marvel Comics X-Men writer Chris Claremont stated Evans is playing multiple characters, in a recent interview, Evans says he won’t be in Avengers: Doomsday.

What did Chris Evans say?
While promoting the release of his new movie, Materialists, which also stars Dakota Johnson, and fellow Marvel actor Pedro Pascal, Evans offered the following.
Via IGN, Evans said, “Yeah, I talk to them all the time. It’s where Pedro [Pascal] is right now. I mean, it’s sad to be away. It’s sad to not be back with the band, but I’m sure they’re doing something incredible, and I’m sure it’s going to be that much harder when it comes out and you feel like you weren’t invited to the party.“
Evans’ previous response? He’s retired.
“That’s not true, though. This always happens. I mean, it happens every couple years — ever since Endgame. I’ve just stopped responding to it. Yeah, no — happily retired!” he said back in January.

Could Evans be playing coy?
It seems likely that Chris Evans is actually playing coy and will be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday and/or Secret Wars.
Robert Downey Jr. is back, and really, except for Scarlett Johansson, all the Avengers are said to be returning, including Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and even Tom Hiddleston as Loki is official.
Regarding the rumors, Claremont hinted Evans is playing Captain Hydra.
“Chris Evans is playing Captain America, young Captain America, evil Captain America, Captain Hydra or something like that… Lord Hydra, whatever… ” he said.
