With the band getting back together in Daredevil: Born Again, Krysten Ritter says she is ready for her big return to the MCU as Jessica Jones.
Recently while speaking with ComicBook.com, Ritter said she will be ready:
“Brad Winderbaum said that? That’s really exciting to hear. Isn’t that the guy who makes the call? Come on, Brad! Let’s get it going. Let’s do it. I’ll be ready.”
Last month saw Brad Winderbaum, the head of Marvel’s Streaming, Television and Animation appear at D23 in Brazil and say he would be open for a return of Jessica Jones when asked which of The Defenders characters he would want in the MCU:
“Oh, wow. I mean, Jessica Jones.”
THR also recently caught up with Winderbaum and asked if all the former Netflix characters can be used, and he replied:
It’s all one shared universe, so you never know where characters are going to pop up next. It’s a huge opportunity to have officially folded those stories into our canon. Whether or not they were always part of the canon, it’s now official, and we can play with those toys in our toy box. There are surprises around the band that I won’t get into, but for fans of the Netflix shows, we’ve got a very exciting show on the horizon in Daredevil: Born Again.
A while back there were reports that Daredevil was going to be a part of the Echo TV series, as the characters have a history in the comics. While that didn’t happen, the report back then from THR says the plot involving Daredevil followed Matt Murdock searching out a former ally. A rumor then surfaced the ally was Jessica Jones, meaning Krysten Ritter was also supposed to appear as Jessica Jones in Echo. If we have to guess, we can guess Marvel may have rethought of using both Daredevil and Jessica Jones in Echo, which now that we look bad is probably a good thing.
Daredevil: Born Again features the return of Charlie Cox, along with Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Jon Bernthal returns as The Punisher. Maybe Jessica Jones, too?
