An insider, Jake Schreier, known for reporting on the gaming and tech industries at Bloomberg, has hinted that GTA 6 might not meet its anticipated 2025 release. Schreier’s previous leaks, including details about the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer, have proven reliable, adding weight to his speculation.
Schreier stated on the Kinda Funny Games YouTube channel, “I would be shocked if it actually made it next year. I think think that it will probably slip again because Rockstar games always slip.” His remarks have left fans questioning whether the game could face additional delays.
Schreier said this on a podcast today, but the game is still on track for its Fall 2025 launch, according to Take-Two and this is only his personal opinion.

Missed Deadlines Fuel Release Date Concerns
A recent report from Schreier at Bloomberg indicated that Rockstar Games has missed multiple internal deadlines during the development of GTA 6. While the studio hasn’t publicly commented on these setbacks, they’ve contributed to speculation about whether the game will arrive by late 2025 as expected.
Schreier’s report also revealed that GTA 6 is going woke as it is claimed Rockstar “is asking its writers to be less crude toward transgender people and other minorities, the common targets of throwaway gags in previous versions.” Some fans think a possible delay means Rockstar is adding woke elements as the previous games did not feature the woke agenda.
GTA 6 was initially announced in 2022, with the first trailer revealed in December 2023. Despite this progress, Rockstar’s silence has left fans in the dark about the next steps.
Second GTA 6 Trailer: When to Expect It
Fans are eagerly anticipating the second GTA 6 trailer, with many hoping for a reveal during The Game Awards on Thursday. Speculation suggests Rockstar could use the high-profile event to drop a new look at the game, but so far, the studio has remained tight-lipped.
A former Rockstar developer recently teased that the company’s silence is all part of the plan, which has only added to the intrigue surrounding the next big reveal.
