The event, held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, set attendance records, with 72,300 fans packing the arena. It also broke records outside of Las Vegas, generating a staggering $18 million gate for the Paul vs. Tyson matchup, doubling Texas’ previous combat sports gate record of $9 million.
A Global Phenomenon

Users also complained about the quality of the feed and Netflix crashing. Netflix didn’t comment on the issues.
Historic Commercial Distribution
Joe Hand Promotions, a leader in distributing live sports to commercial venues, contributed to the night’s success.
Over 6,000 bars and restaurants across the U.S. aired the event, breaking the company’s 50-year record for combat sports commercial distribution.
Star-Studded Spectacle
The star power extended beyond the ring, as celebrities like Shaquille O’Neal, Charlize Theron, Evander Holyfield, and Sugar Ray Leonard watched ringside.
The audience also included actors like Ralph Macchio and William Zabka from Netflix’s Cobra Kai, athletes such as Rob Gronkowski and Micah Parsons, and entertainers like Daddy Yankee and Cedric the Entertainer. Netflix also had people dress up as Squid Game workers.
Boxing’s New Era
With viewership figures based on Netflix’s overnight data and additional metrics expected soon, the event underscored the streaming giant’s ability to redefine how live sports are consumed.
As Jake Paul and Mike Tyson captivated millions, they also helped usher in a new chapter for combat sports, blending entertainment, global accessibility, and record-breaking engagement.
