Marvel Studios is apparently developing Black Panther 3 with Ryan Coolger returning, which will also star Denzel Washington.
Denzel Washington let the cat out of the bag while promoting the release of Gladiator II.
Coolger directed the first Black Panther which starred the late Chadwick Boseman and made over $1.3 billion.
The sequel made $859 million.
Denzel Washington retiring from acting
While speaking with TODAY about how he is going to finish up his acting career and retire, Denzel Washington stated Ray Coolger is writing a role for him in Black Panther 3.
“I don’t know how many more films I’m going to make. It’s probably not that many,” said Washington. “I want to do things I haven’t done. I played Othello at 22. I’m about to play Othello at 70. After that, I’m playing Hannibal. After that, I’ve been talking with Steve McQueen about a film. After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther. After that, I’m going to do the film Othello. After that, I’m going to do King Lear. After that, I’m going to retire.”
Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce Black Panther 3 is happening. Marvel did recently announce three new release dates for 2028, so maybe one could be for Black Panther 3?
Ryan Coolger is currently at Warner Bros. along with Michael B. Jordan on Sinners, which is thought to be some sort of vampire flick period piece.
Gladiator II gets released on Nov. 22.
