What is Spider-Man Noir about?
Per the official description, Spider-Man Noir tells “the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”
In addition to Nicolas Cage, Lamorne Morris plays Robbie Robertson who will be a series regular. His character is officially described as: “Driven, hard-working, and won’t take no for an answer. A dedicated journalist trying to make it with the odds stacked against him as a black professional in 1930s New York. He takes on riskier stories that no one else would touch in order to catch attention and a paycheck. He is willing to do whatever is necessary for his career.”
Also starring includes Jack Huston, Li Jun Li, Brendan Gleeson, and Abraham Popoola. Executive producers include Oren Uziel, Steve Lightfoot, Amy Pascal, and Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who are behind Sony’s Spider-Verse films. Oren Uziel is writing and is known for The Lost City, the recent Mortal Kombat movie, Shimmer Lake, and 22 Jump Street.
A previous description also offers the series follows an older, grizzled superhero in 1930s New York City, and the show has also been said to be set in its own universe that involves an alternate Spider-Man character who is not Peter Parker. The alternate version of Spider-Man emerges in a version of New York during the Great Depression.
