Update: Lionsgate, the studio behind the movie, is taking down the trailer. The negative quotes used in the trailer have been fabricated.
“Lionsgate is immediately recalling our trailer for Megalopolis,” said a spokesperson for the studio to Deadline. “We offer our sincere apologies to the critics involved and to Francis Ford Coppola and American Zoetrope for this inexcusable error in our vetting process. We screwed up. We are sorry.”
Update #2: Lionsgate has parted ways with the marketing consultant responsible for the trailer quotes, Eddie Egan, who appears to have used AI generate the false quotes from the critics.
Half of the trailer for Coppola's Megalopolis is quotes of bad reviews of Francis Ford Coppola's previous films.

The only problem is that all of the quotes are made up!
Lionsgate is trying to remove the trailer from the internet so I've posted it here. pic.twitter.com/a2hShrdqxt

What is Megalopolis about?
MEGALOPOLIS is a Roman Epic set in an imagined Modern America. The City of New Rome must change, causing conflict between Cesar Catilina (Adam Driver), a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), the mayor’s daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.
Megalopolis gets released in theaters on Sept. 27 starring Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Kathryn Hunter, and Dustin Hoffman.
