Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has officially been announced, confirming the Korean Peninsula tease was exactly what fans thought it was building toward.
Following the “Signal Lost” stunt, the wiped Instagram page, and the Korean “Camera 004” live feed, Activision has released the trailer and opened pre-orders for the next Modern Warfare game.

Modern Warfare 4 Takes The Fight To Korea
The story centers on war erupting on the Korean Peninsula after North Korea launches a full-scale invasion.
According to the official description, the invasion threatens to destabilize the world as a young squad of South Korean soldiers fights to survive on the collapsing front lines.
At the same time, Captain Price is waging his own personal war from the shadows half a world away, staying ahead of those hunting him.
As Price’s off-book mission collides with the forces behind the invasion, the war spirals beyond anyone’s control.
Captain Price Returns In A Darker Story
Infinity Ward is developing Modern Warfare 4, which is described as pushing the series into darker and more dangerous territory.
The new campaign will bring long-running Modern Warfare storylines to what Activision calls a powerful and emotional breaking point.
Campaign missions will take players across multiple global locations, including trench warfare in Korea, close-quarters combat in New York, chases through Paris, SAS night raids in Mumbai, and city-wide assaults to reclaim occupied territory.
Multiplayer And DMZ Return
Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer is being described as grounded and precise, with fluid movement, player choice, and greater control defining each engagement.
DMZ is also back.
This time, players operate as off-the-books assets behind enemy lines. Each extraction run into contested territory forces players to decide which objectives to pursue, what to secure, and when to get out.
Modern Warfare 4 Pre-Orders Are Live
Modern Warfare 4 is now available for pre-order or pre-purchase on the following platforms:
- XBOX Series X|S with XBOX Play Anywhere
- PlayStation 5
- XBOX on PC with XBOX Play Anywhere
- PC through Battle.Net
- PC through Steam
Modern Warfare 4 will also be available for pre-order on Nintendo Switch 2 later this year.
The game will not be released on previous-generation consoles, meaning there will be no Xbox One or PlayStation 4 versions.
Modern Warfare 4 also will not be available on Game Pass at launch.

- Digital: Standard Edition
- Physical: Standard Edition for consoles only
Pre-order access covers the Digital Standard Edition, Vault Edition, and Physical Standard Edition.
Availability begins at the start of the Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta later this year.
