Last month saw word that UFC fighter Tyron Woodley has joined the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Tom Holland even went to one of his fights.

Now, however, it’s learned Tyron Woodley won’t be appearing in the movie, as Woodley informed UFC On FOX the news.

“Number one, this is what I said. I said that I could be working on a Marvel movie very soon, and I didn’t put two-and-two together,” Woodley said about not realizing he let the cat out of the bag regarding Spider-Man: Homecoming. “I was in Atlanta – the only Marvel movie at that time was Spider-Man – I didn’t put those things together. So when you’re working on a Marvel movie, their legal department do not play. They got word of it, and everybody started coming down on me, the people that cast me for the part…”

Tyron Woodley went on to explain that it wasn’t Marvel brass that removed him from Spider-Man: Homecoming.

“I did not do [Spider-Man: Homecoming] because I had a previous obligation with FOX, and I thought that was a better play long term… And I’m a man of my word,” he said.

Regarding Tyron Woodley’s role, Woodley offered it was for a villain.

“I was going to play a villain in the movie,” Woodley offered. “And I think I was going to be fighting Spider-Man.”

Tyron Woodley went on to state that he hopes in keeping his commitment with FOX that it hasn’t ruined any opportunities. Watch more in the video below.
