Now Constantine Said To Be Not Cancelled

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20058:]]

Earlier saw a report stating NBC had confirmed the cancellation of Constantine.

Now, however, it’s being said that Constantine is not cancelled.

Showrunner Daniel Cerone has taken to Twitter to offer the news of Constantine getting cancelled is just a rumor.

William Shatner, a fan of the series, has even chimed in that he read Constantine is not cancelled as well.

Cerone previously tweeted he would like Shatner to be a part of Season 2, and Cerone also previously stated he will be pitching the second season to NBC later this month.

So with Cerone stating that Constantine is not yet cancelled, at least there is hope for a second season, which we should be hearing whether or not is moving forward by next month.

Game of Thrones Season 5 Episodes Leak Online

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20056:]]

Following this past Sunday’s record-breaking premiere for Game Of Thrones Season 5, it’s learned that four episodes were leaked online.

Apparently, the leak came as a result of HBO giving the episodes to a group of people who had approval to receive them.

The episodes then turned up on torrent sites the day before Game Of Thrones Season 5 debuted.

It’s reported that within an hour on Saturday, the first episode was downloaded more than 1 million times.

HBO is said to be investigating the situation, which looks to have occurred because of review copies being given out to people associated with the series, as well as review copies to journalists.

Game of Thrones is known for being one of the most illegally downloaded series on the net; however, the downloads don’t seem to be making that much of a detrimental impact as the Season 5 debut saw a record audience with almost 8 million viewers – up 1.4 million from its 2014 premiere and up 800,000 viewers from it’s previously most-watched episode.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9pm ET on HBO.

Watch a preview for episode two:

Katee Sackhoff Creating & Starring In “Rain” SF Series

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20055:]]

Katee Sackhoff, known for Battlestar Galactica, is creating and will star in a new science-fiction series titled Rain.

Deadline reports Sackhoff has teamed with Continuum producer Reunion Pictures for the project, which Sackhoff wrote and is executive producing.

The description for Rain reads as: an evolutionary parable that gives us a look into our possible future as a species viewed through the eyes of a soldier named Rain (Sackhoff). It explores how the long-term effects of global warming, the burning of fossil fuels and the scientific manipulation of nature’s balance rot the world and contribute to its decline.

“With RainKatee has created a future world and a story that are compelling as both a sweeping vision and a very personal exploration of a civilization in harrowing decline by its own hand,” Reunion Pictures’ Tom Rowe said in a statement. “She has written a great story and we are excited to be working with her.”

Katee Sackhoff currently stars in Longmire, which will be moving to Netflix, and was a part of the controversial Power Rangers fan-film that amassed over 14 million views on YouTube within days of its debut.

“It’s great to be in business with Reunion and Thunderbird,” Sackhoff said.” Their credentials in the genre are outstanding and they share my vision in telling a story that means a lot to me.”

Sackhoff’s name has also popped up as a fan-favorite choice to play Marvel’s Captain Marvel.

NBC Cancels Constantine

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20051:]]

NBC has confirmed cancellation of Constantine.

Update: Showrunner Daniel Cerone has said Contstantine is not cancelled.

A blogger for BuzzFeed posted an article about network renewals and cancellations where she tweeted she fact-checked the information with every network.

Constantine has been on the bubble ever since NBC didn’t order a full series for the first Season.

Fans of the series quickly took to social networks in an attempt to save the series with the #SaveConstantine hashtag, which regularly trended worldwide.

Showrunner Daniel Cerone has been vocal on Twitter as well. His last tweet as of April 6th read that NBC invited him to pitch Constantine Season 2 in late April, and added Constantine was not dead and to stay hopeful.

Now with, apparently, NBC confirming the cancellation of Constantine with BuzzFeed, it seems all hope for a Season 2 is gone.

There were rumblings that Constantine could be picked up by NBC’s sister network, SyFy; however, an exec for SyFy stated the rumor wasn’t true.

If Constantine was going to continue, scripts for Season 1 episodes that weren’t used, would have been spun into Season 2.

The finale of Constantine saw a big reveal, which explained a lot, but also left fans with more questions than answers and the desire to see more.

Previously, NBC executives offered the reason for the potential cancellation of Constantine was due to live-viewings not getting high enough ratings, though subsequent DVR and online viewings were said to do well.

Warner Bros. will be using Constantine in the Guillermo del Toro Justice League Dark movie, which is separate than the TV show, but Guillermo delo Toro did state he would be open to using Matt Ryan.

First Look At Arrow / Flash Spinoff Cast Leaks Online

We have our first look at the cast from the Arrow / Flash superhero team spinoff from what appears to be the final episode of The Flash Season 1.

An Instagram user posted the following image revealing Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold; Brandon Routh as the Atom; Caity Lotz (as maybe a time-resurrected Canary?); Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl; Victor Garber as one-half of Firestorm, Victor Stein; Stephen Amell as Arrow and Grant Gustin as The Flash.

The Instagram user also claims Rip Hunter is present (played by Arthur Darvill), but he’s not seen in the image.

Now for some speculation:

Previous images from the episode revealed Ollie in a new League of Shadows Arrow costume, and now we see Ollie back in costume as well as Caity Lotz is back. We know The Flash can time travel, and there is also the time traveller Rip Hunter. It’s probably not too hard to guess that something might happen regarding time travel to bring the team together. It’s possible Caity Lotz may be plucked from a point in her past, but not necessarily messing with her death, as she may go back to the same point in time, “eventually.” This way would then not cause some sort of time paradox and wouldn’t undermine her Season 3 death, but it would enable the use of the fan-favorite character and actress (another possibility is she could be from a parallel universe).

Daredevil Easter Eggs Include Iron Fist, Stan Lee, Hulk & Avengers

Daredevil is now on Netflix with all 13 episodes.

I’m through four episodes, but others have finished the series and posted various Easter Eggs online.

Check a few out including the newspapers on Ben Urich’s wall referencing the Incredible Hulk and The Avengers; a picture of what looks to be Stan Lee at the police station; Stick’s apprentice, Stone; a reference to Iron Fist with the Steel Serpent symbol.

Updated: with a pic of a newspaper referencing Alex Maleev art.

Update #2: with a poster referencing costumed superheroes.

Update #3:

There may have been an Electra reference when Matt and Foggy were talking about the Greek girl they knew in college – “whatever happened to her?” – as Electra is greek and became an assassin for The Hand and Kingpin in the comics.

Matt and Foggy also mentioned “Roxxon” during a flashback to their intern days (Roxxon Corp. is responsible for killing Tony Stark’s parents).

Clare Temple is a reference to The Night Nurse in the comics (and also had a relationship with Luke Cage,)

The character Melvin Potter in the series is the DD ally/foe Gladiator.

Jason Finney plays Stone, the apprentice to Stick.

“Black Sky” may be a reference to vampires (black sky possibly referring to bats).

The office door of Nelson and Murdock has “Van Lunt Real Estate” underneath, which references Cornelius Van Lunt, aka Taurus, and a member of the Zodiac.

The office across from Nelson and Murdock has the “Atlas” comics logo, which is the original name of Marvel Comics.

Madame Gao might be Crane Mother.

“Mike” may have been a reference to DD’s fake twin brother persona in the comics, Mike Murdock.

Crushed Creel poster (see below).

Both Matt Murdock and Skye, from Agents Of SHIELD, grew up at the St. Agnes Orphanage.

Kingpin’s white suit from the comics is joked about when Vanessa said she was once seduced by a prince in a white suit and ascot.

Leland Owlsley is The Owl.

Turk Barrett is Stilt Man (the stilts are featured in Melvin Potter’s work shop – see below).

A sniper is carrying an Ace Of Spades card possibly meaning he is Bullseye (see below).

The name “Barton” (Clint Barton is Hawkeye) can be seen on a sign in the gym.

Samurai Steel is referenced on a shipping container with “Asano Robotics” (see below).

Are Daredevil Fight Scenes Too Over-The-Top? Watch A Scene

Check out a big fight scene above from Marvel’s Daredevil.

The series has been getting a lot of acclaim and rave reviews for the fight scenes, but honestly, I find them a little overboard.

Yeah, I get it that DD has super powers, but the guys he is hitting do not.

Case in point, we see DD take out all the guys above, and then they get up for round two (or three or four). It’s just not realistic. Daredevil smashes a guy in the face with a metal gun, and the guy gets up? Not gonna happen.

I do get it’s a fictional series, but for the approach they are going with – dark and gritty – a lot of the fights are just too much. It needs to be toned down just a bit, IMO.

Check it out for yourself above.

Daredevil stars Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Vincent D’Onofrio (WilsonFisk), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Scott Glenn (Stick), Bob Gunton (Leland Owlsley), Toby Leonard Moore (Wesley), Vondie Curtis Hall (Ben Urich) and Ayelet Zurer (Vanessa Marianna).

James Gunn Loves New Daredevil Netflix Series

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20005:]]

James Gunn, no stranger to voicing his opinion, offers this thoughts on the new Marvel Daredevil series on Netflix.

Gunn offers he has always loved the character since he was a boy and loved the new series.

Gunn also says the scripts have been true to the character.

Via Gunn’s Facebook:

I have loved the character of Daredevil since I was a little boy. Outside of Batman, Daredevil probably has more great comic book arcs than any other character. From Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli to Kevin Smith to Ed Brubaker and on and on, the character has elicited some of the best work from some of the greatest comic book storytellers.

So I was a bit frightened last night when I dug into the new Marvel’s Daredevil Netflix series. I’m a rough TV critic – I love five or so shows on the air right now, but that’s about it – and I didn’t want to see one of my favorite characters come up short. On top of that I really like Steven S. DeKnight, the showrunner, and Drew Goddard, the creator, both as people and as creative forces (Spartacus, Cloverfield, Cabin in the Woods, etc).

Well, I love it. The cast is great. Charlie Cox is just awesome, and Elden Henson is about as an amazing a Foggy as I could have imagined. The fight sequences stand alongside Spartacus and Rome as some of the best TV fight sequences ever (so, the best TV fight sequences ever not performed in togas). And the scripts have been touching and on point and true to the character. In the first few episodes, I cried twice: once in a scene between young Matt and battling Jack, and again when I realized this character I loved so much for so long had been brought to television with such spirit, love, and care.

What I’m saying is, there’s a huge Marvel event going on right now, and it’s Daredevil on Netflix I hope you guys check it out.

James Gunn is directing Guardians of the Galaxy 2 for Marvel, which has a May 5, 2017 release.
