Legends Of Tomorrow Speculated Title For Arrow / Flash Spinoff

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20157:]]

The CW and WB are currently developing a superhero team spinoff series from The Flash and Arrow.

Now a potential title has hit the net with “Legends Of Tomorrow.”

It’s pure speculation as of now, but the title fits with what is currently known about the spinoff.

“Legends Of Tomorrow” would work as a title because it is thought time travel is involved with the new series as not only can The Flash travel through time, but another character said to be a part of the team, Rip Hunter, is from the future as well. This would also explain how Caity Lotz can appear in the spinoff series (either as Canary from the past or perhaps an ancestor from the future).

In an ironic sort of twist, it’s been said Robbie Amell will not be a part of the new spinoff; Robbie Amell starred in a similar-named CW series before joining The Flash that was cancelled with The Tomorrow People.

The info comes from a blurb over at Variety where they reported on an international programming event with mention of “Legends Of Tomorrow.”

With MipTV wrapped, the focus now shifts to the L.A. Screenings in May. Big product suppliers were using MipTV to talk up L.A. Screenings bows that include, in terms of shows attracting attention for WBITVD, “Supergirl” for CBS, “Blindspot” for NBC, “Legends of Tomorrow” for CW, and also “The Curse of the Fuentes Women,” for NBC.

The Flash / Arrow spinoff, possibly titled “Legends Of Tomorrow,” is due out next Fall starring Brandon Routh as Atom, Caity Lotz in an unknown role, Victor Garber as one half of Firestorm, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave, Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter and Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl. You can check out a spoiler-filled cast photo here.

Update: David Ramsey, who plays Diggle on Arrow, is reported to have referred to the spinoff as “Legends” while attending the Calgary Expo over the weekend.

Details On Agents Of SHIELD Spinoff & New John Ridley Series

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20155:]]

New details become known for the planned ABC Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff.

Deadline reports the recent Season 2 cast additions of Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood are finalizing deals to star in the new series.

Blood and Palicki play the former husband and wife duo of Lance Hunter and Barbara “Bobbi” Morse, aka Mockingbird.

Lance is a quick-witted mercenary sharpshooter who recently joined Coulson’s team.

Bobbi worked undercover in HYDRA laboratories and was recently revealed to be a member of the “real” SHIELD.

The report describes the series as potentially having a “Mr. and Mrs. Smith vibe,” which is supposed to be set up during this season, though it’s stated to be unclear weather or not it involves Palicki’s secret plan with the “real” version of SHIELD.

It’s said the spinoff has not yet been ordered for a full series as apparently ABC is waiting on the script.

It’s also unclear if the spinoff would air at the same time as Agents Of SHIELD (ala Flash and Arrow) or be used as bridge between the Fall and Spring seasons of SHIELD.

It’s also mentioned that John Ridley’s Marvel series currently in development will center on the replacement for Carol Danvers’ Ms. Marvel in the comics with the muslim “hero” Kamala Khan.

Watch: Humans Teaser Trailer; New AMC SF Series

Check out a teaser above for the new science-fiction series coming to AMC this Summer, Humans.

Humans, a bold new eight-part drama series from AMC, Channel 4 and Kudos, is set in a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a ‘Synth’ – a highly-developed robotic servant eerily similar to its live counterpart.

Written by British writing partnership Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley (Spooks, Spooks: The Greater Good), Humans is based on the award-winning Swedish sci-fi drama Real Humans.

“A lot of different types of jobs are automated now,” says co-writer Sam Vincent. “Everything is automated with a kiosk now and there’s no guy at the counter. There’s a real explosion of that happening and we wanted to reflect those social and economic trends…If we had something like the Synths we have on our show, that effect would be magnified a hundredfold, and that was quite interesting. We’re really going quite deep into how society would change.”

Humans, which stars William Hurt, Katherine Parkinson, Tom Goodman-Hill, Colin Morgan, Rebecca Front, Neil Maskell, and Gemma Chan, recently finished filming in and around London. The series will premiere on AMC this summer (2015).

12 Years a Slave’s John Ridley Developing Marvel TV Series

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20107:]]

Let the guessing games begin.

It’s learned John Ridley, the Oscar-winning writer-producer behind 12 Years A Slave and ABC’s American Crime, is developing a new Marvel TV series.

EW.com broke the news, offering Ridley is reinventing an existing Marvel superhero character or property for ABC, but the character and title is unknown.

It’s also unknown if this is related the recent news that Marvel is creating an Agents Of SHIELD spinoff.

If Ridley is on that, it’s possible he would be doing a series about one of the characters from SHIELD (Deathlok?).

Marvel seems to be sticking with their street-level characters, so perhaps Ridley could be going with a Cloak and Dagger series or maybe even Moon Knight.

Any ideas?

Daredevil Second Most Pirated Show Following Game Of Thrones

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20092:]]

It’s learned that Daredevil is the second most illegally downloaded show following Game of Thrones for the week of April 10 – 16th.

Variety reports there have been 2.1 million individual users that have downloaded episodes of the show worldwide via torrent networks – even though Netflix is available for less than ten bucks a month.

Game Of Thrones, over the same time period, saw 6.5 illegal download torrents, which is in part due to the first episode of Season 5 and three more episodes leaking online as well as past Season’s episodes being available.

It’s reported Brazil had the highest number of torrents with about 190,274 and was followed by India (149,316), the U.S. (144,351), the U.K. (119,891), France (105,473) and Australia (101,025).

The illegally downloaded torrents don’t seem to be affecting Netflix in a negative light as Wall St. recently sent their stocks rocketing in price, rising 14.7% and touching an all-time high of $546.60, which makes Netflix even more valuable than CBS.

“Daredevil” is currently available on Netflix with 13 episodes.

Now Matt Ryan Says Constantine Is Not Cancelled

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20091:]]

#SaveConstantine

That may be the case as after a report stated NBC had confirmed the cancellation of Constantine, showrunner Daniel Cerone (and William Shatner!) came out on Twitter stating that wasn’t the case.

Now series star, Matt Ryan, has joined them as Ryan also posted on Twitter, “Constantine is not cancelled. Keep the faith everyone.”

Constantine‘s future has been up in the air ever since NBC didn’t order a full season. In addition, NBC executives made negative remarks about the show’s live ratings, but did offer that when DVR and online viewings are factored in, Constantine does well; however, the execs stressed the live ratings were the more important.

There was also the rumor that Constantine would move over to NBC’s sister network, the SyFy channel (NBC Universal owns both) and be renamed Hellblazer; however, that has since been shot down.

Showrunner Daniel Cerone did previously state he would be pitching Season 2 of Constantine this month to NBC, with it probable we would find out whether or not it gets greenlit, at the latest, by next month.

Angélica Celaya also mentioned in a previous interview that the episodes from Season 1 that didn’t get a chance to air would be moved to Season 2, and Celaya seemed to think Constantine Season 2 was happening.

Of all the current comic book TV shows, I have to say Constantine was right up there as one of my favorites, and also one I considered a “must watch.” It’s a good show, hopefully NBC greenlights Season 2.

Spoiler Actor & Character Leaves Arrow

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20078:]]

If you recall, last month saw the cast of Arrow tease what many thought to be the death of a major character.

Stephen Amell tweeted that “sometimes real feelings creep into a scene” and “good-byes are tough. Even when they’re scripted.”

Now it’s become known exactly what Amell was talking about.

Spoilers follow for the latest episode of Arrow.

Tonight on Arrow saw Arrow’s sidekick Roy Harper, aka Arsenal, leave Starling City at the end of the episode. Roy had pretended to be Arrow last week, and then this week saw Roy stage his own death in prison, escape, and decided to leave Team Arrow as he drove off in his car.

The departure was brought on as a result of Colton Haynes’ contract ending on Arrow.

Deadline does note Haynes will still be appearing in another episode of Arrow this year and that talks are underway for the actor to appear on episodes of The Flash or the new Arrow/Flash spinoff.

Arrow EP Greg Berlanti told Deadline that they always knew Colton Haynes would be on for just two seasons.

“When we made the deal. We made a two-season deal that had a clock on it, we always knew that,” Berlanti said. “When he was coming off Teen Wolf, we described the role to him, and we agreed to do it for a couple of years.”

Both Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim did state they left it open for Haynes to return, and that is why they didn’t kill the character off.

“We wanted to do something different,” Berlanti continued. “These characters are so young, they represent the next generation of superheroes, and we love the idea of having them just out there. And as a person we like Colton so much, we all would love to see him back. Such a talented, great guy.”

“The hope is that he’ll continue to be part of the universe we are building,” Guggenheim added. “We love working with his so much. We’ve talked to him about returning to one of the three shows, and if available, he has expressed interest. He is gone but definitely not forever.”
