Stephen Amell Begins Filming TMNT 2 In NYC; Buffalo Films Friday

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20258:]]

Michael Bay recently released first look images for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 as filming has begun.

Arrow actor Stephen Amell, who plays Casey Jones in TMNT 2, also posted on his popular Facebook page that it’s his first day of filming adding, “A little ‪#‎mememonday‬ would go a long way.”

Amell runs his own Facebook page and regularly interacts with fans, such as having them create memes with his likeness.

TMNT 2 is currently filming in NYC (sorry, no set pics), and it’s learned the movie’s second filming location, Buffalo, NY, will begin closing streets down this Friday.

The New York State Department of Transportation has announced that Friday, May 1st, will see part of the Kensington Expressway in Buffalo closed for filming from 11:00pm to 4am the next morning. Then starting the following Monday, the road will be closed every night from 7pm to 6am to Saturday, May 16th.

Paramount previously let it be known none of the well-known actors would be present for the shoot, but did offer the scene would feature helicopters and multiple vehicle chases.

The location is literally about fifteen to twenty minutes away from the Cosmic Book News offices, so I’m going to head down there and see what’s up.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2” has a June 3, 2016 release directed by David Green and produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, starring Megan Fox as April O’Neil, Will Arnett as Vernon, Stephen Amell as Casey Jones, Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman with the movie also featuring Bebop and Rocksteady.

Joss Whedon Jokes Agents Of SHIELD Isn’t Real & Again Says Coulson Is Dead

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20247:]]

Coulson Lives!

Coulson’s Dead!

One way of getting around the lackluster reception of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is to simply state it never existed in the first place.

That’s what Joss Whedon says (well not the lackluster part) as Whedon states again that Coulson is dead.

This time, Whedon tells IGN the following – offering Agents Of SHIELD is just a Coulson fever dream:

Yeah he’s dead. The entire television series is just a fever dream. It’s a Jacob’s Ladder moment he’s having at the point of death, but we don’t give that away until after season seven. And there’s a snow globe. Now I’ve given it away. Bollocks!

Whedon continues with mention that while Marvel TV and Marvel Studios are a part of the same shared universe, essentially they are separate.

It’s a weird little yes and no. As far as I’m concerned in the films, yes he’s dead. In terms of the narrative of these guys [The Avengers] his loss was very important. When I created the television show, it was sort of on the understanding that this can work and we can do it with integrity, but these Avengers movies are for people to see the Avengers movies and nothing else. And it would neither make sense nor be useful to say ‘Oh and by the way remember me? I died!’”

Whedon also went on to talk about how he thinks Marvel Studios was annoyed by Marvel TV and makes a remark about the events from Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

“I think actually the movie people were a little bit cross about the TV show” Whedon revealed. “They were sort of like ‘Well you can have this but not this. And this but not that.’ It’s complicated enough as it is without me adding another layer of complication. We also created a TV show called S.H.I.E.L.D. right before they made a movie where they destroyed S.H.I.E.L.D.. So everybody’s having a GREAT time!”

Marvel TV is also launching two new series for ABC with one being a SHIELD spinoff featuring Adrianne Palicki, and the other is rumored to possibly feature the new Marvel Comics muslim character who took over the Ms. Marvel codename.

Doctor Fate Teased For Constantine Season 2

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20245:]]

Showrunner Daniel Cerone and David Goyer will be meeting with NBC executives later today to pitch the second season of Constantine.

Cerone has asked the fans to tweet with the hashtag #SaveContantine at 1pm ET so they can show NBC that Constantine is trending worldwide (as if often does).

Cerone also participated in a live-tweet of the re-airing of the pilot where he offered clues as to Season 2. DC Comics fans instantly recognized the helmet of Doctor Fate, with Cerone offering it will be a factor in the Constantine Season 2 premiere.

Cerone also offered Season 2 will feature flashback scenes of Constantine’s origins as well as may feature flashbacks of Jasper Winters (Liv’s deceased father and owner of the house/Constantine’s headquarters).

Update: NBC said the Constantine Season 2 pitch meeting went well.

Daredevil Charlie Cox Is Contracted To Do Marvel Movies

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20232:]]

Will we see the Man Without Fear side-by-side The Avengers?

It’s definitely a strong possibility with the success the Daredevil Netflix series has become in addition to the positive fan reception.

While Charlie Cox has stated he hasn’t heard anything from Marvel Studios, the good news is that it’s in Cox’s contract to do be a part of the MCU.

Speaking with close-upfilm.com, Cox says:

It’d be great. I’ve read Civil War [comic] now, I’ve read The New Avengers [comic], I know he’s in there but I think I missed the boat on Civil War because they’re filming that. I don’t know, Marvel have not mentioned that to me at all. It’s in my contract that if they want me to do it, I’m there, and I would love that. That would be an extension of the dream, but I’m a pretty happy customer at this point, to get to do the series again. And I get to do The Defenders at some point.

While Cox may not be appearing in Captain America 3, perhaps we will see Daredevil in Marvel’s Infinity War movies.

Daredevil is currently available on Netflix with 13 episodes, and Season 2 is in the works.
