Watch: Taika Waititi’s ‘Time Bandits’ Trailer: Apple Shuts Off Comments

Apple TV+ has released Taika Waititi’s Time Bandits trailer for the upcoming series which reimagines the classic original 1981 movie.

This time around Friends actor Lisa Kudrow plays Penelope, the leader of the ragtag group of thieves. Notably, the series has also ditched use of the six dwarfs in favor of a diverse cast; however, as revealed by the trailer, dwarfs play a different role. 

“History’s greatest heists await. Discover the adventure,” states the video description. Watch below.

What is Time Bandits about?

The description states: Eleven-year-old Kevin’s passion for history is put to the test when he joins a ragtag group of time-traveling thieves on a high-stakes and hilarious adventure in this epic reimagining of the iconic film.

The series also stars Kal-El Tuck as Kevin, Tadhg Murphy as Alto, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva as Widgit, Kiera Thompson as Saffron, and Rune Temte as Bittelig. Taika Waititi also cast himself as what looks to be the god character.

Time Bandits premieres July 24, on Apple TV+.
