The Witcher Season 4 has cast Laurence Fishburne as Regis, the fan-favorite vampire character from the books and video games.
In the books, Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy, commonly referred to as Regis, emerged as a formidable higher vampire who is more than four hundred years old by the time he crossed paths with Geralt of Rivia. Serving as the barber-surgeon in Dillingen, Regis exhibited extensive knowledge across various domains, earning him the status of a polymath.
The Witcher Season 4 will see Laurence Fishburne playing the character Regis, a world-wise Barber-surgeon with a mysterious past who joins Geralt on his journey.
“I’m very excited to be joining the cast and look forward to exploring the wondrous world of The Witcher,” said Fishburne in a statement.
Henry Cavill is no longer playing Geralt, with Liam Hemsworth taking over the role.
What is The Witcher Season 4 about?
After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire — and finding one another again.
“As a Witcher fan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure,” said Hemsworth following the departure of Henry Cavill and being named to the role.
Hemsworth continued, “Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.”
