Listen To Yoda, Obi-Wan, Luke, Darth Vader & Palpatine In Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Listen to the secret dialogue in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Rey flashback scene.

We already knew the scene featured Yoda and Obi-Wan (voiced by both Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor), but apparently it features Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, the breathing of Darth Vader and Palpatine as well.

The Mike Zeroh YouTube channel put the video together, which first plays what we hear in the movie, and then later amplifies the sound so it can be heard a lot clearer. Cool video.

Obi-Wan Kenobi & Yoda Are In Star Wars: The Force Awakens

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23410:]]

I totally missed this when I first saw the movie, but Star Wars: The Force Awakens featured both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda.

Director J.J. Abrams confirmed the use of the two Jedi Masters as their voices were featured in the Rey lightsaber vision scene. Frank Oz spoke as Yoda, and they used both Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor for Obi-Wan.

“The idea of the voices was, we wanted the audience to feel – but not necessarily be presented right in your face — this idea that familiar, Force-strong voices were connecting with her. At least as well as they could,” Abrams told EW.com“You do hear a little bit of Yoda. You hear Luke yelling out, ‘Nooo!’ from that moment in Empire. And you hear Obi-Wan at the end say, ‘Rey … these are your first steps.’ Here’s the cool part. We asked Ewan McGregor to come in and do the line. And he was awesome and we were very grateful. He was incredibly sweet and handsome, and all that stuff. Then he rode off on his motorcycle. Literally the coolest voice over actor ever.”

Regarding the use of Alec Guinness’ voice, it’s revealed that Bryan Burk, producer on The Force Awakens, surprised Abrams with Obi-Wan Kenobi’s voice saying the name “Rey …”

“I said, ‘That’s cool, is that the thing from Ewan McGregor?’” Abrams said. “He said ‘No, we took a line from Alec Guinness saying ‘Afraid.’

“They cut it, and you hear the performance – he’s saying it the way I would have begged Alec Guinness to have said it. It is so crazy perfect,” Abrams explained.  “So when you hear Obi-Wan talk to Rey it is both Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor doing the voice.”

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has a December 18, 2015 release directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer.

Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.

Watch: Weird Al Yankovic Perform “Yoda” With Autistic Children

Check out Weird Al Yankovic singing his “Yoda” parody with 11-year-old Jodi DiPiazza accompanied by a choir of autistic children at the Night Of Too Many Stars.

DiPiazza is autistic as well and brought the house down back in 2012 when she sang with Katy Perry.

Weird Al happens to be another of Jodi’s favorite singers.

Night of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together for Autism Programs is hosted by Jon Stewart and raises money with NYCA (New York Collaborates for Autism) to support programs covering everything from the intensive education kids with autism need at a young age to social training for adults who want to contribute in the workplace. We’ve even created a “Teach the Teachers” program that helps train more teachers to work in the public school systems, for the many kids with autism who can’t get into the few quality schools that can help them. Many organizations support biomedical research to study autism. Night of Too Many Stars is working to help people who live with autism now.

Here are the lyrics to the song:

“Yoda”

I met him in a swamp down in Dagobah
Where it bubbles all the time like a giant carbonated soda
S O D A, soda

I saw the little runt sitting there on a log
I asked him his name and in a raspy voice he said “Yoda”
Y O D A, Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda

Well, I’ve been around, but I ain’t never seen
A guy who looks like a muppet, but he’s wrinkled and green
Oh, my Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda

Well, I’m not dumb, but I can’t understand
How he can lift me in the air just by raising his hand
Oh, my Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda

Well, I left home just a week before
And I’ve never ever been a Jedi before
But Obi Wan, he set me straight, of course
He said, “Go to Yoda and he’ll show you the Force”

Well I’m not the kind that would argue with Ben
So it looks like I’m gonna start all over again
With my Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda

So I used the Force
I picked up a box
I lifted some rocks
While I stood on my head
Well, I won’t forget what Yoda said

He said, “Luke, stay away from the darker side
And if you start to go astray, let the Force be your guide”
Oh, my Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda

“I know Darth Vader’s really got you annoyed
But remember, if you kill him, then you’ll be unemployed”
Oh, my Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda

Well, I heard my friends really got in a mess
So I’m gonna have to leave Yoda I guess
But I know that I’ll be coming back some day
I’ll be playing this part ’till I’m old and gray

The long-term contract I had to sign
Says I’ll be making these movies till the end of time
With my Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yoda Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yoda Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yoda Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yoda Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yoda Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yoda Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
Yo-yo-yo-yo Yoda
