Transformers: The Last Knight Art May Suggest Scourge or Predaking

Paramount has released new art for Transformers: The Last Knight.

The banner released on Twitter features art of Optimus Prime wielding a sword being attacked by what looks to be dragons or possibly the Decepticon, Scourge or even the Predacon Combiner, Predaking.

Interestingly enough, Transformers: The Last Knight also features Onslaught, the leader of the Combaticons who form the combiner bot, Bruticus. Perhaps Michael Bay is going to feature numerous Combiners in the movie?

Regarding the dragon angle, it’s been rumored that Michael Bay is taking a medieval approach for Transformers: The Last Knight in what sounds like some sort of adaptation of the Arthurian Knights of the Round Table — including Merlin and Excalibur.

“Get ready for battle. #Transformers: The Last Knight is coming in 2017,” Paramount Pictures’ Twitter account posted.

“Transformers: The Last Knight” has a June 23, 2017 release directed by Michael Bay starring Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Stephen Merchant, Isabela Moner, Tyrese Gibson, Jean Dujardin, Jerrod Carmichael, Allen Phoenix, with Peter Cullen returning as the voice of Optimus Prime.

Transformers: The Last Knight Story Rumors Sound Horrible

My high hopes of seeing Unicron unleashed in Transformers: The Last Knight look to be crushed based on new rumors surrounding the movie, which sound frickin’ horrible.

Per the title, JoBlo is stating the plot of Transformers: The Last Knight will center around the legend of the Merlin and the Arthurian Knights of the Round Table.

The details have it that Optimus Prime finds his home planet of Cyberton, which is now dead — and Optimus is responsible for killing it. Well, Optimus finds a way to bring Cybertron back to life with the help of an artifact that is on Earth.

It’s said the artifact ties in with Merlin as – get this – the power of magic was given to Merlin by a Transformer, which the artifact ties into (somehow). It’s also speculated it may have something to do with the sword, Excalibur (again per the title logo).

If the plot details are indeed true, it basically sounds like Michael Bay is adapting the Arthurian legend of the Knights of the Round Table, the Holy Grail (could be the artifact), and I am wondering if Bay is going to throw in the Merovingians, Mary Magdalene and the Illuminati to boot.

What a disaster.

That said, JoBlo also has it that:

• Bumblebee will me more the leader as Optimus is off on his own mission.

• Hound, Crosshairs, and Drift are said to be returning.

• The Autobots have set up camp in the Badlands of South Dakato, which serves as their base of operations.

• Dinobots are said to be back in addition to “mini-dinobots” (unclear what that means).

• Three new Transformers will be featured in the movie, including some with “English” origins (meaning English accents).

• It’s speculated Anthony Hopkins is voicing one of the “English” Transformers.

• One of the “English” Transformers is called “The Creator” who is said to have ties to the origins of the Transformers.

• Another “English” Transformer is named Cogman whose vehicle-mode is an Astin Martin.

• A third “English” Transformer is said to be named Squeaks whose vehicle-mode is a Vespa.

• As previously made known, Megatron will be the villain (Barricade is back, too), with this report stating he will be able to change into a jet figher.

“Transformers: The Last Knight” has a June 23, 2017 release directed by Michael Bay starring Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Stephen Merchant, Isabela Moner, Jean Dujardin, Jerrod Carmichael, Allen Phoenix, Anthony Hopkins, with Peter Cullen returning as the voice of Optimus Prime.

Transformers 5 Films This Summer In Detroit

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24485:]]

Michael Bay starts filming the fifth Transformers movie this Summer in Detroit.

The Michigan Film Office announced the news with confirmation that Mark Wahlberg returns as Cade Yeager, and also that Transfomers 5 will film in other parts of the world. See fulll details below.

Info:

‘Transformers 5’ lands in Detroit; big-budget film latest high-profile project attracted to Michigan Film office amended agreement with Paramount Pictures saves state $21 million

LANSING, MI – Michael Bay’s “Transformers 5,” the latest in the hit series of films from Paramount Pictures and Hasbro, and among the top box-office grossing franchises of all-time, will be filmed in Detroit this summer. Official confirmation comes as the result of modifying incentives from other approved Paramount Pictures projects into a single amended agreement for “Transformers 5.”

Restructuring the incentive agreements with Paramount saves the state $21 million, and speeds up the production of the next installment of one of next summer’s most-anticipated films.

Directed by Bay, “Transformers 5” will star Mark Wahlberg, reprising his role of Cade Yeager. In addition to Michigan, the movie will film in locations around the world.

“Having one of the highest-profile film franchises created in Michigan is a major economic boost and a testament to the talent of the state’s production community,” said Jenell Leonard, commissioner of the Michigan Film & Digital Media Office.

“The production and economic investment is now happening sooner rather than later, and obviously, the project is a certainty rather than merely a possibility,” she said.

The production anticipates an in-state spend of $80 million and projects making 850 cast and crew hires, 450 of which will be Michigan residents equating to 228 full-time positions. The production also expects to hire 700 extras.

The amended agreement between the film office and Paramount reallocates dedicated funds and meets all criteria for a qualified production in terms of expenditures and personnel hired in Michigan.

While in July the state legislature eliminated the film office incentive program which prohibits the film office from entering into new agreements, agreements with production companies approved before the abolishment of the program must be honored. Because approved Paramount projects had yet to begin production and receive the incentives, state statute allows for funds to be reallocated for qualified productions.

“Michigan has been so welcoming of Michael Bay and the ‘Transformers’ movies over the years and we are thrilled to be returning for this next incredible installment,” said Lee Rosenthal, president of Physical Production at Paramount Pictures.

Paramount had multiple preapproved applications with the Film Office, representing a total of approximately $42 million in eligible incentives. “Transformers 5” takes half the incentives already allocated for Paramount projects. The remaining $21 million will be returned to the state general fund at the end of the fiscal year.

The announcement of “Transformers 5” production comes a month after Viacom’s Comedy Central announced its “Detroiters” series would be filmed in Detroit beginning this summer. The television series did not receive an incentive. Rather, city of Detroit and film office representatives worked together to accommodate crews and budget for the television production.

In fact we just finished, which some of you may have read, just an incredible experience, we decided we wanted to plot out the next ten years of the Transformers franchise. So we got together in a room over a three month period of time with nine of some of the most creative writers I had ever worked with shepherded by Akiva Goldsman, who many of you may know won an Academy Award for Beautiful Mind and written a bunch of really great movies, and they plotted out the next ten years of Transformers. Similarly, we are doing the same in television and in digital. So stay tuned. Transformers 5 is on its way… and 6 and 7 and 8.

Transformers 5 & Animated Movie On The Way; Michael Bay In Talks To Direct

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22150:]]

Following the recent rumors surrounding Transformers 5, now it’s said the fifth movie in the franchise will be going into production this June with Michael Bay presently in talks to return to direct.

Deadline also reports a Transformers animated origin story focusing on Cybertron is also in the works.

Paramount recently put together a Transformers writing room to generate ideas for their Transformers Universe, with it overseen by Akiva Goldsman, who will be writing Transformers 5. The writing room also consists of Ant-Man writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari who are behind the upcoming animated movie. Making up the rest of the group is Zak Penn (Last Action Hero, The Avengers), Jeff Pinker (Lost), Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (Iron Man), Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Christina Hodson, Lindsey Beer, Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down), Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.

It’s said Transformers 5 will be a sequel to the last movie with Mark Wahlberg said to star. The initial report did state Michael Bay was directing, but Bay stated it’s not official: “No, it’s not official. I have not committed to any idea as of yet. Just met with Steven [Spielberg] and we are discussing.”

In addition to Transformers 5 and the origin animated movie, it’s reported the other writers in the group have generated ideas for futher movies and possible spinoffs with it looking likely scripts are next coming from Pinkner, then one by Beers.

Regarding those earlier Transformers 5 rumors, which were said to come from Lockdown voice actor Mark Ryan, the actor took to Facebook to shoot them down as, for some reason, some website were misquoting Ryan stating he mentioned Unicron and the Quintessons.

I’m totally stunned about the current and false online chatter about TF-5 and comments I did not make! I have never given an official interview regarding TF-5, nor would I even utter the words Unicron or Quintessons! I’m not in a position to! This is all online speculation and hype because I was misquoted from a casual chat with a fan at an event in the UK.

I sincerely have no idea what the storyline for TF-5 will be, or who/what’s in it, or even who will direct it! It’s all secret until the movie is released so as not to spoil the excitement for the fans. Sorry guys! I did not say what you are reading online and even if I knew, I would not tell! Always check with the original source directly first before posting speculation please. Cheers
