Supergirl & The Flash Score High Ratings

Last night saw The Flash and Supergirl air on CBS, which drew in some pretty good numbers.

The episode gave Supergirl its best rating since early February with 7.24 million viewers tuning in, which is up from the previous episode of 6 million.

The 7 million viewers is also almost more than two times what The Flash on the CW normal sees (around 4 million).

Supergirl also beat Fox’s Gotham, as the two air at the same time, with Gotham netting 4.78 million.

The episode was a bit corny for my taste (poor choice in villains, and I could do without the Kara and Jimmy Olsen romance), but seeing Supergirl and The Flash on screen together was pretty cool. Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist have some good on screen chemistry.

More than likely with the ratings success, this will mean further crossovers down the line with Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow, which Gustin said was the plan.

Update: CBS released the following official announcement:

Fear The Walking Dead Ratings Score Record 10.1 Million Viewers

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21836:]]

The premiere episode for AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead is a smash hit as the first episode scored a cable record 10.1 million viewers.

To put the numbers in perspective, the first episode of The Walking Dead that aired back in October of 2010 manage 5.35 million viewers, and most recently AMC’s first episode for Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff, netted 6.88 million viewers.

Fear The Walking Dead also managed to have 6.3 million viewers amongst the coveted adult 18-49 advertising demographic, which gave the show a 4.9 rating.

Fear The Walking Dead, similar to The Walking Dead, also managed to top the NFL’s Sunday Night Football.

The Walking Dead franchise continues to prove itself as last season saw TWD’s Season 5 opener scored a record-breaking 17.3 million viewers, with the Season 5 finale drawing 15.8 million viewers. Season 6 premiers October 11th.

“Fear The Walking Dead” Season 1 airs for six episodes Sundays on AMC starring Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane and Mercedes Mason.

Synopsis:

Fear The Walking Dead is described as a gritty drama living in the same universe as The Walking Dead that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark and English teacher Travis Manawa have managed to assemble. The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful, escapist, and strung out children takes a back seat when society begins to break down. A forced evolution, a necessary survival of the fittest takes hold, and our dysfunctional family must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories.

Agents Of SHIELD Season 2 Finale Scores Ratings Low

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20529:]]

While it’s been said the planned Agents Of SHIELD spinoff was cancelled due to not wanting popular characters moved off the show, the real story might be as simple as the ratings.

Last night’s two-hour Season 2 finale of Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD saw a ratings low for the series.

The season two finale came in at a 1.3 rating, which is down 13 percent from last week’s 1.5 adults 18-49 rating, with 4 million viewers.

By comparison, The Flash continued to see strong numbers for the less-watched CW network with a 1.4.

iZombie even saw a 17 precent jump for the CW compared to the previous week (0.7 rating).

The season two finale for Agents Of SHIELD was also down by about 30% compared to last year’s season finale.

Worth a mention is that Agents Of SHIELD has a heavy DVR playback; however, it’s unknown how that affects advertising (and how that affects the show) as obviously people skip over the ads.

No worries, though, as ABC has renewed Agents Of SHIELD for Season 3 as well as Agent Carter for Season 2.
