Machinima Announces Justice League: Gods and Monsters, DC’s Hero Project & More

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20379:]]

HEROES TAKE CENTER STAGE AT MACHINIMA’S DIGITAL CONTENT NEWFRONT PRESENTATION

Programming Slate Includes Blue Ribbon Content and DC Entertainment’s Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles Season 2, #4Hero, and DC’s Hero Project along with RoboCop, Clive Barker’s Creepy Pasta, Happy Wheels, High School 51 from Robert Orci, and Collaborations With Some of the Most Renowned Social Video Stars In The World

LOS ANGELES, CA, May 4, 2015 – Machinima’s debut at the Digital Content Newfronts was nothing short of “heroic.” The first global many2many programming service focused on fandom and gamer culture, Machinima unveiled a programming slate designed to elevate and celebrate a global community of gamer, comic and hero fans through the most innovative content on the Internet. Partnerships with Blue Ribbon Content and DC Entertainment, Metro-Goldwyn-MayerClive Barker, Roberto Orci and Bunim/Murray Productions, along with some of Machinima’s leading creator talent, showcase Machinima’s commitment to developing content across all genres, formats and platforms.

“Fandom and gaming engenders so much passion and engagement; it’s a cultural shift uniquely connecting with the most valuable millennials,” said Chad Gutstein, Machinima’s CEO.  “It’s this deep connection to our audience that has made Machinima the ninth largest video entertainment platform in the United States, and the second most watched programmer on YouTube.  With our new slate, we are reminding our fans and our clients of one very important fact: Machinima is back!”

Machinima’s programming slate includes:

Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles Season 2

From visionary producer and animator Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series), Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles turns the DC Universe upside-down. In this dark, alternate world, telling the good guys from the bad guys is never easy: Superman is not the son of Jor-El, he’s the son of General Zod; Wonder Woman is not from peaceful Themyscira, but rather the warring nation of Ares; and Batman is more vampire-bat than man…and he’s not Bruce Wayne. It is unclear if our greatest heroes are here to protect us…or to rule us. With Season 1 set to launch in June, Machinima, Blue Ribbon Content and DC Entertainment have already begun development on Season 2, a 10-episode follow-up to the initial limited series.

DC’s Hero Project

Machinima, Blue Ribbon Content, and DC Entertainment are setting out to discover the next great creator for the world of DC Comics.  Eight contestants compete in elimination challenges to develop a live-action short video based on their own interpretations of characters from DC Comics’ Starman comic book series. Well-known guest judges and celebrity special guests will join bestselling writer and DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and a panel of esteemed judges to oversee the entire competition.

#4Hero

A modern adaptation of DC Comics’ cult-favorite classic “Dial H For Hero”, #4Hero is a live-action, VFX-heavy action-comedy about a young woman named Nellie Tribble who is quietly desperate to make her mark on the world, but wholly unprepared to do so. Nellie stumbles upon a life-altering smartphone app that allows her to instantly become a Super Hero for a short amount of time. The problem is her super powers are dictated by whatever is trending on social media at that moment, and they are always only semi-useful.

Clive Barker’s Creepy Pasta

For the first time, horror legend Clive Barker is stepping away from the creatures of his own imagination and entering into the world of Internet horror fan fiction, affectionately known as Creepy Pasta.  Starting with viral urban legends (e.g. Jeff the Killer, Slender Man and Ben Drowned), Clive Barker’s Creepy Pasta is an original series of live-action, blood-curdling short films.  These new tales will be curated and adapted by Barker from submissions obtained through the creepypasta community, and produced by Machinima to scare you to your core.

RoboCop

“Dead or alive, you’re coming with me.” OCP’s Security Concepts Division’s RoboCop program is back in an all-new, short-form limited web series, based on Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s 1987 classic action film. RoboCop returns to Delta City where viewers ride along with the now standard-issue RoboCop officers as they respond to calls from dispatch. Tapping into current themes of the surveillance state, the series is shot from the first person point of view of the RoboCop officers’ heads up display, along with security cameras, dash-cams, and drones.

Happy Wheels

“Choose your inadequately prepared racer, and ignore severe consequences in your desperate search for victory!”

                                                                        – Happy Wheels

Machinima will bring audiences an all-new original animated series based on Jim Bonacci’s hit online game Happy Wheels and produced by BMP Digital, the digital division of Bunim/Murray Productions (‘The Real World’, ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’). This must-see 10-episode short form series, which will feature fan-favorites such as Wheelchair Guy, Irresponsible Dad and Lawnmower Man, will expand upon the game that has more than 8 million players a month and showcase its notorious dark humor and penchant for blood and gore. Additionally, with over 3.1 billion video views amassed, BMP Digital is looking to leverage the voiceover talents of YouTube influencers such as Toby Turner (15.2M YouTube Subscribers, Cartoon Network’s The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange) and others who have made this game so iconic.

Jerome ASF’s The Baka Chronicles

Adding to the gaming fervor, Machinima’s iconic Minecrafter Jerome ASF (3.6M YouTube Subscribers), will be teaming with N00b Adventure creator Jim Schwerfeger for an all-new series – The Baka Chronicles. Featuring Jerome ASF’s most beloved character, Baka, the series follows two unlikely server admins who problem-solve the hilarious antics of griefers, trolls, and kids who wreak havoc across their favorite multiplayer Minecraft server. Little do our heroes realize this job is a massive headache.

High School 51

Created and produced by Roberto Orci (TransformersAmazing Spider-Man 2Star Trek, Sleepy Hollow, Lost, Fringe) and Legion of Creatives, and starring Orlando Jones (Sleepy HollowTainted LoveDrumlineMADtv),High School 51 is as out of this world as the name implies.

Hidden away in the heart of Area 51, Dream Lake High School is filled with mind-blowing technology, top-secret government programs and a student body that is cool, quirky, attractive, and…well, alien.  No one from the outside has ever been allowed into the school and no human has ever attended…until now.

For 16-year old Alex Valencia, the first and only human ever to attend Dream Lake, high school is going to be tough. Fitting in will be one thing but his biggest challenge just might be saving the human race!

Returning Series

Additionally, Machinima is announcing the return of some of its most popular shows including AFKChasing The CupRealmBattlefield FriendsSanity Not IncludedDeck Wars, and ETC.

WB’s Justice League Universe Under Pressure To Perform

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20289:]]

Warner Bros. is feeling the pressure from Hollywood and investors in regards to its planned Justice League shared universe, according to an article at THR.

With Disney and Marvel Studios being such a success, will WB be able to follow along a similar path and match the near $7 billion that Disney has generated since 2008 with the Marvel movies?

While Marvel has Kevin Feige at the helm, WB seems to be leaderless as shake-ups recently occurred which saw Jeff Robinov (Dark Knight Trilogy, Harry Potterleaving for Sony and Kevin Tsujihara coming on board. Tsujihara, at the recent CinemanCon, even seemed to mention he might not be with WB in the near future. Add to that, the failure of the Green Lantern movie and the lukewarm reception to Man of Steel only fueling the fire, and WB’s shared Justice League universe isn’t a sure bet.

The article at THR specifically questions both the Wonder Woman and Aquaman movies in development. Director Michelle MacLaren recently departed Wonder Woman over creative differences where it became known that WB has five separate writers working on scripts for the film (now said to be down to two), which apparently doesn’t sit too well with Hollywood agents that rep the writers. An insider said the process on Wonder Woman is “unorthodox” with still another adding it “felt like they were throwing shit against the wall to see what stuck.” Regarding Aquaman, the article states WB has three separate writers on the movie, with it said the the writing process is on hold until WB is “ready to proceed.”

“Marvel has been an unbelievable platform for Disney to build and foster franchises,” BTIG analyst Richard Greenfield said. “The question for Warners is, can they replicate that strategy using DC?”

“They just haven’t been thorough about their whole world and how each character fits and how to get the most out of each writer’s time by giving them direction,” said a rep with knowledge of the process, according to the article. “Obviously, Marvel’s very good at that.”

“You can’t just give it to a filmmaker,” said a reported Marvel insider. “You have to give it to someone who has an institutional knowledge of these characters.”

It’s not all doom and gloom for WB though, as Zack Snyder is said to have presented his vision for the DC Cinematic Universe to investors which analyst Michael Nathanson found “very impressive.” However, Nathanson did say he is taking a careful approach.

“Embedded in my earnings forecast [for Time Warner] is some estimate of success for DC, but I would say we’re conservative in our outlook,” he said. “I’m not giving anyone credit for a movie until we see the product.”

DC Movie Universe schedule:

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice  (March 25, 2016)

Suicide Squad (August 5, 2016)

Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot (2017)

Justice League Part One  (2017)

The Flash starring Ezra Miller (2018)

Aquaman starring Jason Momoa (2018)

Shazam starring Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam (2019)

• Justice League Part Two directed by Zack Snyder (2019)

Cyborg starring Ray Fisher (2020)

Green Lantern (2020)

Henry Cavill Attends CinemaCon: Talks Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20170:]]

Prior to teaming with Ben Affleck in Batman Vs. Superman, Henry Cavill is teaming with the 2008 Justice League Batman, Armie Hammer, for The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Both Cavill and Hammer were in attendance in Las Vegas for the WB presentation.

Regarding Batman Vs. Superman, Cavill stated, in the below video, he might be attending Comic-Con this July, but noted “things can change” with a a smile. Cavill also side-stepped questioning in regards to how Batman Vs. Superman was different than filming Man of Steel. Man From UNCLE co-star Armie Hammer then asked Cavill about working with Ben Affleck, with Cavill replying, he is “very excited, actually.” The two then went on to joke about not answering any more questions.

Update: A second video of Cavill from the event has surfaced (see below) where he offers he has seen just a little bit more of the Batman Vs. Superman footage, but says it wasn’t much as it was in black-and-white. Cavill also says he wouldn’t call it a Superman sequel: “This is Batman versus Superman. It’s a separate entity altogether. It’s introducing the Batman character and expanding upon the universe, which was kicked off by Man of Steel. It’s definitely an introduction to the character and ultimately an introduction to Justice League.”

At the WB presentation, Warner Bros. Chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujijara spoke to the exhibitors reiterating WB’s plans to release ten DC Comic book movies starting with 2016’s Batman Vs. Superman with more movies all the way to 2020. Tsujijara also made mention of the recently announced three LEGO movies and also said at least three Harry Potter spinoffs of the Fantastic Beasts series will be released, with the first due out November 2016. Following the presentation, the Batman Vs. Superman trailer was shown to the audience.

“While tentpoles and franchises are important to us and to you they are just one part of what we do. We’re also very excited about the wide variety of comedies, dramas, action adventures and horror films that we’re making,” Tsujijara said. “These films allow us to reach broad and underserved audiences and they create the opportunity for breakout hits like The Lego Movie, The Conjuring and that little film that exceeded everyone’s expectations, American Sniper… We’re committed to bringing you great films throughout the year, not just the summer and holidays…this time next year I will be here, or somebody who replaces me, will be talking about the great success we had with Pan in October.”

“The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” has an August 14, 2015 release; “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” hits March 25, 2016.

Jason Momoa Says Aquaman Will Be Bad Ass Because Of Him

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19920:]]

Some fans of the comic books consider Aquaman a second-rate superhero, but come March 2016 the King of the Seven Seas will be played by Jason Momoa.

Momoa is set to first appear in Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League followed by the standalone Aquaman film, with Momoa telling Total Film magazine Aquaman will be bad ass in the movies.

Aquaman will be badass, otherwise they wouldn’t cast me for the role,” Momoa offered. “Being Hawaiian, our gods are Kanaloa and Maui, and the Earth is 71 percent water, so I got to represent that. I get to represent all the islanders, not some blond-haired superhero.”

The article also mentions that Momoa will be featured in Justice League Part 2 as well, with all his appearances looking to be a part of an origin-type story.

“It will probably be this whole origin story, I would think…” stated Momoa.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter and Tao Okamoto in new character roles for the film. Justice League is to follow directed by Zack Snyder as well.

First Look At Justice League: Gods And Monsters & Plot Info

Updated: with sneak peek video above.

Update #2: A trailer has hit the net.

We get a first look at the latest WB animated movie from Bruce Timm, Justice League: Gods and Monsters.

Nerds On The Rocks posted the following screenshots and info as I’m guessing a preview is a part of the Batman Vs. Robin animated movie.

Justice League: Gods and Monsters is not based on the comic of a similar name, but features an original story by Bruce Timm. Per the descriptions below, we see just how original as it’s more of an Elseworlds tale than anything resembling the regular DCU.

The plot for the movie is described as:

The movie centers around the murder of prominent DC Universe scientists like Ray Palmer, Victor Fries, Silas Stone and others that the Justice League is being framed for. They attempt to investigate these murders while dealing with mounting pressures from outside sources.

A Justice League: Gods and Monsters animated series is also being developed and is officially described as:

Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles — Animated short form series from Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett (producers of the legendary Batman: The Animated Series) will debut on Machinima in 2015. Based on Justice League: Gods & Monsters, an original animated film that will be released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment later in 2015.

The New DC Trinity – Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman.

Batman is not Bruce Wayne but Kirk Langstrom (Man-Bat in DCU). While trying to find a cure for his cancer, Langstrom injects himself with bat venom becoming a “pseudo-vampire,” and he then feeds on criminals to cure his bloodlust.

Lois Lane and Superman (which is the son of Zod)

Wonder Woman – said to be of the “New Gods,”; marries Orion, but something goes wrong causing her to come to Earth

Darkseid – said not to have a big role

Lex Luthor – said to be more like a “Stephen Hawking” who is a seeker of knowledge, but there is more than meets the eye to this Lex

Jason Momoa Talks Aquaman & Justice League Movie

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19910:]]

While chatting about his SundanceTV series The Red Road, Jason Momoa also talks about Aquaman and the Justice League movie.

Fear not fans of The Red Road, Momoa says if a third season is green lit, he will still have time to do it.

Regarding the Justice League movie, Momoa offers he hasn’t read a script as of yet.

“Justice League is quite a ways off. We don’t have scripts and stuff like that,” Momoa told THR. “I’ll bring my professionalism there. I’ll bring my sense of humor. Hopefully people will like that. If they don’t I’ll modify it.”

Momoa also talks about the big reveal when Zack Snyder released the first image of Jason Momoa as Aquaman.

“Michael [Wilkinson], the head costume designer, he created all of that,” Momoa said. “I basically just showed up and he made it happen. And it’s all Zack, through his genius mind.”

Momoa continues with mention that balancing the smaller TV roles with the larger movies roles is a “dream job.”

“I have a TV show that I love,” Momoa said. “I’m going to be in one of the biggest movies in history in a minute, playing a superhero. And I have kids so that’s cool. My kids can finally see something that I’m in.”

Prior to Justice League in 2017 and Aquaman in 2018, Jason Momoa will be first appearing in Batman Vs. Superman next March as well.

Guillermo del Toro Still Waiting On WB For Justice League Dark

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19891:]]

Guillermo del Toro’s Justice League Dark film featuring the more supernatural characters of the DC Universe is all set on his end as the director is finished with the script and has handed it in to WB.

Now it’s a waiting game.

Guillermo del Toro attended a press event for his FX series, The Strain, where he offered an update on Justice League Dark to IGN.

“We turned in our [script] revision, and it all depends on the calendar, you know?” del Toro offered earlier today. “If I can do it, I would love to do it. And I think the screenplay and the characters are very solid.”

The report goes on to mention that del Toro stated that if he is unable to direct Justice League Dark due to other commitments and timing, that “somebody will do it.” It’s reported del Toro said it’s not easy to commit to directing considering the amount of time it takes to direct a movie and especially with Justice League Dark being a part of a shared DC movie universe.

“You cannot say, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it after I do this,’ or ‘I have the first season of The Strain,” said del Toro. “[Justice League Dark] needs to fall into the plan of the DC Universe.”

Gal Gadot Talks Wonder Woman Criticism & Powers

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19757:]]

Gal Gadot will first be featured in Batman Vs. Superman prior to her Wonder Woman standalone movie and Justice League.

Gadot, who previously had roles in the Fast and Furious movies, is more known for being an Israeli supermodel, which is what caused a lot of controversy amongst the hardcore fans.

When Gadot was announced as Wonder Woman, some on the internet complained she was too skinny for the role.

Now in a new interview, Gal Gadot responds to the critcism (via robotunderdog).

I’m really lucky nothing in my life was instantaneous. When I was younger I would take criticism really hard. But now it mostly amused me. The true amazons had one boob so it won’t bother them in their archery. So it’s not going to be like real amazons. We always try to make everyone happy but we can’t.

Gadot continues by commenting on the fact that her breast size became a matter of international discussion.

No. After they asked me here, In Israel, if I have eating disorders and why am I so skinny, they said my head was too big and my body was like a broomstick I can take anything. It’s just empty talk. I understand that part of what I’m doing means being exposed. And part of being exposed is being under fire (criticism).

The actress also recounts how she leared she got the part.

I never had to wait so long for a reply. It was a month and a half of torture. It was a crazy roller-coaster. I couldn’t talk about it to anyone. On the day they promised a reply I was flying to NY for another gig. When the plane landed I saw I had a lot of missed calls. I called my agent still sitting in the plane with the belt on. She told me ‘ Congratulations! You got the part.’ During the flight I set next to a really nice man. A scientist from The Weizmann Institute of Science. He talked the entire flight about quantum physics. Now, imagine me, sitting on the plane, looking for a little piece of privacy, burring my head between my legs and starting to scream ‘Oh my god!’ again and again, because I just can’t believe it. Then I hang up the phone and he looks at me like ‘what just happened?’ and asks if everything is alright. I tell him ‘ I can’t really say anything but you will probably read about it tomorrow in the paper.‘

Gadot also mentions Wonder Woman’s powers, where she says Wonder Woman doesn’t fly.

She has unbelievable endurance. She is exceptionally strong. She can jump really high and practically fly. She know tons of martial arts styles. She is a strong and serious Woman.

Dwayne Johnson Says Black Adam May Join Justice League

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19741:]]

Putting the puzzle pieces together: 1) It is Dwayne Johnson, and 2) Black Adam is being said to be an anti-hero and not a straight-up villain; so it’s not a stretch to think that at some point down the line Johnson’s Black Adam could lean more toward the superhero side of things.

That is pretty much what IGN says to Dwayne Johnson in the following video when they ask if Johnson thinks Black Adam could eventually join the Justice League.

Dwayne Johnson agrees, but also implies Black Adam has to go a more darker route to get there as he offers, “At first, daddy’s got to go to work,” which also hints at Black Adam kicking some butt and clashing with other heroes.

As it stands right now, Shazam has a 2019 release, but Dwayne Johnson also previously said that the movie might get an earlier release.

Here is the text of Johnson’s response.

I think so, and I think you always want to leave that creatively open, that he could join the Justice League, and I think that’s the fun part of creating this character right now and everybody involved, from studio, from New Line, to Warner Bros. as well, to the writer, our producing partners — you you definitely want to engage in his heroic side.

But that has to be earned, and with a mythology and the mythology of Black Adam starting off as a slave – because when you start off as a slave – just inherently, there’s things in your DNA — that piss you off [lughs]. And that’s the bottom line, so I think we have to respect and pay homage to the true mythology, and then the heroic side will come down the line.

But I think it’s important, and I feel we all feel it’s important and I believe the fans at IGN feel it’s important, to make sure the homage is paid at the beginning because then you have a stronger foundation to stand on, and so he will become an anti-hero, but at first — daddy’s got to go to work.

DC Animated Shows & Cartoon Network Series Being Yanked From Netflix

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19519:]]

You have about 25 days left to watch the DC Animated shows on Netflix as well as the Cartoon Network series.

According to the Netflix queue, the shows will be available until March 30th.

This includes the DC shows: Justice League Unlimited, Justice League (2001), Young Justice, Batman Beyond, Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Batman: The Brave and The Bold.

And the Cartoon Network shows: Regular Show, Adventure Time, Ben 10, The Grimm Adventures Of Billy and Mandy, Generator Rex, MAD, Dexter’s Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Samurai Jack, Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends, Ed, Ed N Eddy, Codename Kids Next Door, and Cow and Chicken.

It’s unknown if the contract simply expires on that date and just needs to be renewed, or if WB is pulling the plug.

It’s possible WB could be coming up with their own digital streaming service, such as they did with HBO Go, which launches this Spring for $15 a month.

Maybe the WB/CN shows will now be found on HBO Go?

Cosmic Book News questioned WB about it and is currently waiting a response back. We’ll update with more when it’s available.

In the meantime, you may want to get watching your favorite shows listed above.

DC Movies Are Edgier & More Real Than Marvel Says WB CEO

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19515:]]

With Marvel releasing the awesome trailer for The Avengers 2 today, it was only a matter of time before the direct competition fired back.

Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara spoke at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference today and addressed superhero movies.

“The key thing is that the movies and the television shows and the games, everything looks very different …you have to be able to take advantage of the diversity of these characters,” Tsujihara said in response to the notion that the business is suffering from “superhero fatigue,” reports Variety.

While DC is building a shared movie universe of their own, which kicked off with Man of Steel, Tsujihara says DC and Marvel are different.

“The worlds of DC are very different,” he said. “They’re steeped in realism, and they’re a little bit edgier than Marvel’s movies.”

Tsujihara noted that it’s easy to promote a superhero movie because lots of different people are already familiar with them.

“The big franchises are becoming more and more valuable,” said Tsujihara. “You don’t have to explain to the consumer what a Batman v Superman is.”

Gal Gadot Getting Into Shape For Wonder Woman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19506:]]

Check out some new images of Gal Gadot.

While the pics are not specifically from her training for Wonder Woman – it’s an ad campaign for Castro – the images do appear to reveal some muscle tone.

Gadot has been under fire from fans and critics citing her supermodel figure is too skinny for the role of Wonder Woman.

It’s unknown if Gadot will appear as Wonder Woman in Batman Vs. Superman or just as her alter-ego Diana, which may not require her to be beefed up all that much.

Justice League is still a couple of years away, so she has plenty of time to add some additional muscle. I’m guessing she won’t look like a Gina Carano or Ronda Rousey, but just be more tone (she has a supermodel career after all).

Hopefully these latest images aren‘t photoshopped too much.

Jason Momoa Talks Aquaman, Batman vs. Superman & Justice League

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19417:]]

Jason Momoa is set to play the King of the Seven Seas on the big screen come March 2016 in Batman Vs. Superman.

Momoa also stars in The Red Road TV series that airs on Sundance TV. While doing press for the series, Momoa talks about his DC slate and Aquaman.

Jason Momoa notes he didn’t shoot any action scenes for Batman Vs. Superman and looks forward to the Justice League movie for that; Momoa also says he doesn’t have a big role in Batman Vs. Superman as it’s their movie (via EW).

No, we haven’t done too much on the action yet. You know, Justice League is still quite a ways away. But I’m looking forward to it. Henry’s a sweetheart, Ben is a badass, so I’m really looking forward to when we all shoot Justice League.

Well, it’s Batman and Superman, it’s not my movie. It’s the first time in history to have them both on the screen together, and I’m just excited to see those two up there.

Momoa also talks about the big Aquaman poster reveal that took everybody and the internet by storm.

That was a shocker for sure. It was supposed to be a surprise in 2016, so it definitely helps [our show]. I’ve been holding that secret for a long time. Zack Snyder called me up and said, “I’m posting this picture now.” He’s just a genius and I love him to death. He sent it over and we’re in the middle of the editing suite for the thing I’m doing right now, and we all freaked out, man. It was so amazing to see it come out.

Momoa says Aquaman will be amazing with lots of surprises on the way.

The whole mythology of Aquaman is pretty amazing. There’s so many things to tell, and there’s a whole backstory that’s just amazing. There’s a lot of surprises coming. I think, yeah, he’s been cast aside. But, um [laughs] times are going to change now, buddy.

Batman Vs. Superman has a March 25, 2016 release; Justice League is due out in 2017, with Aquaman in 2018.
