All-Female Ghostbusters Has Found Its Villain

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21253:]]

The all-female Ghostbusters has found its villain.

Deadline reports Neil Casey will play the bad guy in the Paul Feig Ghostbusters reboot.

Casey is known for Saturday Night Live where three of the film’s leads – Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones – also came from as well as roles on Veep, Other Space, Kroll Show and Cufflinks.

As the article notes, interestingly enough Casey sort of resembles Ghostbusters II‘s Dr. Janosz Poha.

It’s said Neil Casey’s character is named Rowan, but no specific details are known.

Leaked Sony e-mails did mention the bad guy of the all-female Ghostbusters might be a convicted murderer who turns into a ghost after his execution is hit by “a supercharged electrical storm” and raises an army of the dead in NYC.

Director Paul Feig also shared some prop images.

“Ghostbusters” has a July 22, 2016 release starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth.

Doctor Who, Scooby Doo, Ghostbusters, Simpsons Coming To LEGO Dimensions

Joining Batman and Gandalf in LEGO Dimensions is a slew of new characters, which includes Doctor Who, Ghostbusters, The Simpsons and more.

Check out a new trailer above with new screenshots below.

Info:

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed today that LEGO Dimensions, the upcoming entertainment experience that merges physical brick building with interactive console gameplay, will include gameplay from The Simpsons, Doctor Who, Ghostbusters, Portal, Jurassic World, Midway Arcade, LEGO Chima and Scooby Doo! These fan favourite worlds, most of which have never before been in a LEGO videogame, will converge with the previously announced DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The LEGO Movie, The Wizard of Oz, LEGO Ninjago and Back to the Future worlds in one thrilling adventure playable with the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack.

For gamers that want to customise their LEGO Dimensions experience, Level Packs, Team Packs and Fun Packs based on these fourteen brands will provide new buildable characters, vehicles and gadgets, as well as compelling game content with mission-based levels and unique in-game abilities. All expansion packs will provide players the opportunity to use everything interchangeably, anywhere throughout the game.

It was also revealed in a new trailer that every LEGO vehicle and gadget can be physically built and then rebuilt twice for a total of three different objects that do entirely different things in the digital game for massive variety. Once players earn a building achievement, they will get in-game instructions that show them how to use the same physical LEGO bricks to rebuild vehicles and gadgets into different objects that provide all-new abilities.

For example, the LEGO vehicle bricks that come in the Starter Pack can be used to build the LEGO Batmobile that enables players to activate accelerator switches. The Batmobile can be rebuilt and transformed into the LEGO Batblaster which adds Sonar Smash, a sonar gun that has the ability to break LEGO sonar bricks.  The vehicle can then be rebuilt again as the LEGO Sonic Batray which adds a special attack in the form of a missile barrage.  Players can fuse an upgraded vehicle to the LEGO Toy Tag, enabling them to take it and any new abilities with them to a friend’s game or wherever they’d like to play. Players can do this with every vehicle and every gadget from every pack.

Launching September 27th, 2015, LEGO Dimensions will be available for Xbox One, the all-in one games and entertainment system from Microsoft and the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment systems and Nintendo´s Wii U system.

Star Wars & Avengers Join Forces For Industrial Light & Magic Image

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20645:]]

Check out a gatefold image from Wired for the 40th Anniversary of LucasFilm Industrial Light & Magic featuring some of the well known characters and creators from the various movies ILM has worked on.

We see characters from Star Wars, where the old meets the new with Yoda and the new bot from The Force Awakens, BB-8, in addition to George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy, and JJ Abrams; a Velociraptor from Jurassic Park, and Steven Spielberg and ET. That also looks to be Ant-Man standing on the “I.”

The second image features Bumblebee and Michael Bay from the Transformers franchise; Star Wars: Episode VIII director Rian Johnson; Ron Howard; Guillermo del Toro; a T-1000 Terminator, and Rango.

The third image features the Hulk and Iron Man from the Avengers; Lynwen Brennan of Avatar; Gore Verbinski with Davey Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean; Colin Trevorrow of Jurassic World, and Duncan Jones of Warcraft, in addition to Slimer from Ghosbusters.

Industrial Light & Magic started when Fox finally greenlit Star Wars by giving George Lucas $25,000 to finish the screenplay; however, Fox had no special effects division of their own – so Lucas went out and created one.

“Industrial Light & Magic was born in a sweltering warehouse behind the Van Nuys airport in the summer of 1975.”

Melissa McCarthy Leader Of Female Ghostbusters (Video)

We get an update in the above video from director Paul Feig about the upcoming Ghostbusters female reboot.

Feig says that Melissa McCarthy will be the leader of the team and also offers that the reboot gives them a chance to do things differently and not just follow the originals, especially with the ghosts/monsters and special effects.

Feig also doesn’t seem too thrilled about the recently announced Ghostbusters universe with the franchise expanding into merchandise, television and a male-driven Channing Tatum Ghostbusters film.

Feig actually dismisses the wider Ghostbusters Universe and offers it won’t affect his film and even states he doesn’t know if the Channing Tatum Ghostbusters movie is definitely happening.

He also offers the announcement was a big surprise to him, with apparently Sony not informing him of the new Ghostbusters venture.

Check out more in the video.

The female Ghostbusters reboot has a July 22, 2016 release also starring Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong and Leslie Jones.

Paul Feig Not Involved With Male Ghostbusters; Has Words For Haters

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19649:]]

Director Paul Feig is launching the start of a new Ghostbusters universe with his movie featuring an all-female cast.

When the announcement was first made, some people on the internet weren’t too happy, and now Feig offers a further response to the haters.  Feig also says some people on the internet have a problem with him adding women into the movie.

“The biggest thing I’ve heard for the last four months is, ‘Thanks for ruining my childhood.’ It’s going to be on my tombstone when I die,” Feig told Variety. “It’s so dramatic. Honestly, the only way I could ruin your childhood is if I got into a time machine and went back and made you an orphan.

“I figure it’s some wacked-out teenager,” Feig continues. “But almost constantly it’s someone who’s bio says ‘Proud father of two!’ And has some high-end job. You’re raising children and yet you’re bashing me about putting women in my movie?”

Feig also offers that he isn’t involved in the new recently announced male Ghostbusters which looks to star Channing Tatum.

“I’d heard some rumblings about it,” Feig said. “Who knew there were so many ghosts to be busted in the world?”

It is noted that Feig states he is a fan of Tatum and the Russo Bros., who are rumored to direct, but Feig is concentrating on the ladies.

“All I know is my ladies are going to kick ass and I would not want to go into battle without them.”

Feig’s Ghostbusters has a July 22, 2016 release starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong and Leslie Jones.

With the announcement of the male Ghostbusters movie, Sony also announced a new production studio to oversee the franchise with Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd involved, which will see Ghostbusters expanded into not only movies, but TV and licensing.

Male-Driven Ghostbusters With Channing Tatum & Russo Bros. Being Developed

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19570:]]

In addition to the all-female Ghostbusters, Sony is also developing a male-driven Ghostbusters movie.

Deadline reports Anthony and Joe Russo, who just signed a first-look deal with Sony, look to be attached to direct and produce the new male Ghostbusters movie, with Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce penning the script.

Channing Tatum is also set to be onboard as a producer, with it likely that Tatum will star as one of the new Ghostbusters as well (recently leaked Sony e-mails revealed Tatum was interested in Ghostbusters along with Chris Pratt).

It’s further reported that Sony has plans to expand the Ghostbusters franchise as a “Ghostcorps” – a new production company – is being formed to oversee the franchise, which will have original director Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd involved (more than likely Aykroyd will be featured in the new Ghostbusters).

The female Ghostbusters movie will launch July 2016 and marks the start of the new franchise from director Paul Feig starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong and Leslie Jones.

“We want to expand the Ghostbusters universe in ways that will include different films, TV shows, merchandise, all things that are part of modern filmed entertainment,” Reitman said. “This is a branded entertainment, a scary supernatural premise mixed with comedy. Paul Feig’s film will be the first version of that, shooting in June to come out in July 2016. He’s got four of the funniest women in the world, and there will be other surprises to come. The second film has a wonderful idea that builds on that. Drew will start writing and the hope is to be ready for the Russo Brothers’ next window next summer to shoot, with the movie coming out the following year. It’s just the beginning of what I hope will be a lot of wonderful movies.”

Meet Your Ghostbusters 3 All-Female Cast

Behold your new all-female Ghostbusters.

Director Paul Feig tweeted the following image confirming that Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are the new Ghostbusters.

Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy have worked with Feig before in Bridesmaids;  McKinnon and Jones are known for Saturday Night Live.

The third Ghostbusters movie will be a reboot; however, Feig hasn’t ruled out using the original cast members in new roles.

Details released as a result of the Sony hack revealed Ryan Gosling is eyed for a role, and that the all-female Ghostbusters form as a result of a villain capable of rising an army of the dead in NYC. Other leaked e-mails revealed a possible spinoff starring Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum.

Feig also previously responded to the “haters” by telling them Ghostbusters 3 won’t ruin their childhoods.

Update: Paul Feig also tweeted the new Ghostbusters will have a July 22, 2016 release, with Sony releasing the following image:

Paul Feig Says Ghostbusters 3 Will Not Ruin Your Childhood

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18585:]]

Paul Feig is behind the Ghostbusters 3 reboot that will feature a squad of all-female Ghostbusters.

While wishing everyone a Happy New Year on Twitter, Feig has a message for the haters, which looks to include the original cast.

“Happy New Year to everybody,” Feig posted. “Even the Ghostbusters reboot haters.”

Feig then went on to continue that he promises not to ruin the haters’ childhoods.

“I love you all,” Feig said. “I promise I will try not to ruin your childhoods. #iswear.”

The Ghosbusters reboot has been said to be “scarier and more high-tech” than the originals, which will see the all-female Ghostbusters form to face an executed villain who, as a result of an electrical storm, is able to raise an army of the dead.

Rumored actors for the reboot include Cecily Strong, Peter Dinklage, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy and Ryan Gosling.

Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum are also possibly involved in a Ghostbusters spinoff.
