James Gunn’s Superman trailer is ready to go, and now it’s said to be great and that new Man of Steel, David Corenswet, is a superstar.
The info lines up with what our DC insiders filled us in at Comic-Con, that Gunn’s new Superman movie that launches the DCU is “solid.”
We’ve been told the trailer has been worked on since July. Now Frank Grillo, who plays Rick Flag Sr. in the movie and in both Creature Commandos and Peacemaker Season 2, weighs in.
What did Frank Grillo say about the Superman trailer?
While speaking with Collider about Creature Commandos, which gets released Dec. 5, Grillo snuck in a comment about the Superman trailer:
“I got a sneak peek at a little bit of the trailer, and I’m not joking, and I’m not blowing this out of proportion, my skin was hot and I had goosebumps. That’s how great it is.”
Grillo continued and also said good things about David Corenswet:
“By the way, this kid, David [Corenswet], is going to be a superstar. A superstar. He’s amazing, as is the rest of the cast in the film, and just James’ take on it. I think it’s gonna be the movie.”
The interview also saw Grillo state he is a big fan of the Man of Steel, particularly with the original Superman TV series, and that for him, Superman comes way ahead of Batman.
Superman flies into theaters on July 11, 2025 directed and written by James Gunn. The film’s ensemble cast also includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Holt as Lex Luthor.
Frank Grillo also stars in Werewolves, which gets released on Dec. 6.
When will the Superman trailer be released?
Regarding when the Superman trailer will be released, it’s unknown.
James Gunn recently said he won’t be attending Brazil’s CCXP, which was thought to be the best opportunity to release the trailer.
It’s still possible he trailer could drop in December, possibly with the release of Warner Bros’ Lord of the Rings anime that gets released on Dec. 13. Another possibility is in February during the Super Bowl.
