Thanks to The Emmy’s we get updates on Superman: Legacy about David Corenswet’s Man of Steel, Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane, and Anthony Carrigan’s Metamorpho.

Brosnahan reveals James Gunn is in Atlanta getting the flick ready for filming in March.

Regarding David Corenswet, she says he is with Gunn is also in Atlanta doing fight training, and she also says that she isn’t involved in any of the fights though she would like to be.

Lois Lane is marvelous

She is also asked to describe her Lois Lane, which she laughingly says is “marvelous.”

“I’ve really enjoyed the collaboration with James Gunn so far. Every single person involved in this production is such a perfect nerd for Superman. We all grew up watching the movies. Some of us grew up reading the comic,” she told ET. “I feel like it’s being made with so much love. This Superman will have a sense of humor. We’re excited to both put out own spin on things but also honor this material that we all love so much.”

Brosnahan is also asked three adjectives to describe her Lois Lane, and she answers, “Feisty. Dare I say marvelous [laughter], and fiercely intelligent.”

Big shoes to fill

In another interview, she also says, “We have big shoes to fill, but we’re excited to try and fill them. The best part about working on this is that from top to bottom, from James to Peter Safran, everyone at DC and David… we’re all just nerds.”

James Gunn Casts Anthony Carrigan As Metamorpho In 'Superman: Legacy'

Regarding Metamorpho, Brosnahan reveals Lois Lane actually has a couple of scenes with Carrigan and the actor says he can relate to Metamorpho.

“With Metamorpho, this is a character who was almost cursed with his powers and thought that he was freakish in terms of what he looked like and that’s something I could totally relate to because of my alopecia,” he told Rolling Stone

Speaking with THR he also says he is preparing for the role by reading the comic books.

“Yeah, just using my imagination,” Carrigan says. “The character has never been played before at least in real life so I am doing that thing where I like to draw inspiration from everywhere. I throw it all into a pot and see what happens.”

Superman: Legacy will be released on July 11, 2025. Also starring in the movie includes Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, and Edi Gathegi playing Mister Terrific. María Gabriela de Faría is also playing The Engineer from The Authority described as a “villain.” Skyler Gisondo is Jimmy Olsen, and Sara Sampaio is Eve Teschmacher. Nicholas Hoult is Lex Luthor. Sean Gunn is playing Maxwell Lord in the DCU, though it’s not clear if he will be in Superman: Legacy. It’s also rumored Supergirl will appear in the film prior to her own solo movie.
