A Shift in Kara’s Character

According to USA Today, Supergirl follows Alcock’s Kara after her debut in Superman, now taking center stage in what’s described as a cosmic, character-driven DC film.

The outlet refers to her as “the Man of Steel’s party-girl cousin,” suggesting the film leans into the more jaded, emotionally complex version of the character.

DC officially describes the plot as: When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.

Release Date and Cast

Supergirl is directed by Craig Gillespie and is set to hit theaters on June 26, 2026. Alcock leads a cast that includes Eve Ridley, Matthias Schoenaerts, David Krumholtz, and Jason Momoa as Lobo.
