Suicide Squad 2 Gets A Writer

Warner Bros. continues moving forward with Suicide Squad 2.

THR reports WB is in negotiations with Adam Cozad to write Suicide Squad 2, who recently wrote The Legend of Tarzan for Warner Bros. and also Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit in addition to having worked on the Valiant Bloodshot movie.

It’s further reported that Suicide Squad 2 is a top priority at the studio, and that presently no director is as of yet attached, but Mel Gibson has been approached, and the studio is first concentrating on getting the story down.

David Ayer directed the first Suicide Squad movie and is not returning for the sequel. Ayer will be directing the Gotham City Sirens movie starring Margot Robbie who returns as Harley Quinn, and the movie will feature other female characters of the DC universe.

Suicide Squad debuted last year to the tune of $745 million worldwide, and while it didn’t get critical acclaim, its box office was more than enough to fast track a sequel.
