Last month Disney announced they were ending their Netflix deal and launching a streaming service of their own.
Now it’s learned the Disney streaming service will feature the Star Wars and Marvel movies.
Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed the use of the Star Wars and Marvel movies at the the Bank of America Merrill Lynch 2017 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference
“We’re going to launch big, and we’re going to launch hot,” Iger said. “It will have the entire output of the studio, animation, live action at Disney, including Pixar, Star Wars and all the Marvel films.”
Bob Iger also revealed the Disney streaming service will launch later in 2019 and again confirmed it will have exclusive content including original series and original movies. Price is to be announced.
What’s presently unclear is the future of Marvel TV at Netflix with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Defenders and Punisher. The shows look to be presently sticking with Netflix as Daredevil Season 3 is said to film in October, Punisher airs later this year, and new seasons are in the works for Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
