Back in March of 2013 our DC Entertainment source’s Lucasfilm friend filled us in on a batch of info that mentioned Star Wars: Episode VII will be taking place 30 years after Return of the Jedi.
Disney CEO Bob Iger now confirms that to be true.
StarWars.com revealed details about Star Wars: Episode VII that included J.J. Abrams will film in May at London’s Pinewood Studios.
It’s also noted that it has been confirmed that Star Wars: Episode VII is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces.
Regarding the familiar faces, Star Wars: Episode VII is all but guaranteed to feature Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford.
The new faces are the younger characters that will eventually take over the franchise in which there have been rumored almost a dozen actors for the roles.
To date, Disney and Abrams have not officially announced any of the casting for the movie.
“Star Wars: Episode VII” has a December 18, 2015 release.
