What is the history of Ahsoka Tano?

In “The Jedi” episode of The Mandalorian, Rosario Dawson made her live-action debut as Ahsoka Tano where Mando approached her to train his ward, Grogu, in the ways of The Force, but Ahsoka refused. Despite this, she joined forces with him and pursued her own objective of tracking down Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Before her live-action portrayal, Ahsoka Tano was first introduced in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Ashley Eckstein provided the character’s voice, and she was given the nickname “Snips” by her master Anakin Skywalker. Ahsoka developed from a strong-willed student to a skilled warrior and leader before departing from the Jedi Order. Later, she reappeared in the Star Wars Rebels animated series and joined forces with the Ghost rebels crew, including Sabine and Hera. In one of the show’s most intense moments, Ahsoka engaged in a lightsaber duel with her former master, Anakin Skywalker.

“I’m just really glad that she lived, that we’ve been able to continue growing with her,” Dawson told StarWars.com when taking on the role. “I think that she’s so special.”
