It’s learned that over the weekend, 47-year-old Smallville actor Tom Welling was arrested for DUI.
Update: Welling appeared at the MegaCon with fellow Superman actors Tyler Hoechlin, Brandon Routh, and Dean Cain.
What happened?
According to police records obtained by TMZ, Welling was arrested shortly after midnight on Monday in an Arby’s parking lot in Yreka, California. A quick check of the website reveals the Arby’s location closing at 10pm. It could be possible the police found Welling on the nearby street and then pulled him over in the parking lot.
TMZ says the local police department arrested Tom Welling for DUI with a blood alcohol level reportedly at or above 0.08%. Various law firm websites offer that for men of average size and weight, consuming 4 to 5 standard drinks over two hours can result in a 0.08 limit. Welling happens to be 6′ 3″.
TMZ also obtained the mug shot of Tom Welling.

As noted, Tom Welling posted Sunday on his Instagram wishing his wife, Jessica Rose Lee, a happy birthday. We can guess the couple and their family might have been celebrating.
Smallville reunion update
On a side note, recent news related to the actor includes that a Smallville reunion might be happening as an animated series.
Welling and Michael Rosebaum, who played Lex, have been discussing the potential reunion for at least three years.
However, as of November, Welling said the Smallville animated series wasn’t a priority at Warner Bros. as he filled in Screen Rant:
We want it to work. The honest answer is we have not been able to get Warner Brothers to give us the thumbs up. We need their permission.
[Laughs] We haven’t even gotten a response! It’s the weirdest thing because it is more of a fan-driven idea. It’s not going to be a blockbuster. It’s not going to be a financial windfall for any of us. We all like each other, we all like working together, and if we could do it, it’d be fun. But Warner Bros. – and I’m not hating on them – they just haven’t gotten back to us. It’s not a priority for them. It’s like a not-returning-phone-calls-thing. [laughs]
