Sigourney Weaver Cast As Marvel’s Defenders Villain

Earlier this week saw Sigourney Weaver tease something Marvel, and now tonight at the NYCC, Marvel TV announced Sigourney Weaver is playing the villain of their upcoming Defenders event crossover.

Sigourney Weaver made a surprise appearance at the Marvel Iron Fist panel which also saw Luke Cage Mike Colter, Krysten Ritter Jessica Jones and Charlie Cox Daredevil appear along with Finn Jones Iront Fist.

“Marvel is honored to have an actress of her caliber and status join what is already our biggest show ever! She is by definition a class act,” said Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb.”

“Sigourney Weaver, what more is there to say,” said Cindy Holland, Vice President of original content at Netflix. “She’s a formidable actress and we are thrilled to have her join our remarkable cast alongside Charlie, Krysten, Mike and Finn.” 

The villain role that Sigourney Weaver is playing in Defenders is currently unknown.
