A Scooby-Doo! The Live-Action Series live-action series is headed to Netflix which follows a bidding war for the show.
The series hails from Greg Berlanti‘s Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. and is written by Cowboy Bebop writers Josh Appelbaum & Scott Rosenberg.
The series is described as a “drama project” and a “a live-action update of the popular cartoon.”
Berlanti Productions recently released Dead Boy Detectives on Netflix last week which made the streamer’s top streaming charts within 24 hours and stayed in the Top 3 all weekend.
Greg Berlanti is also known for developing the DC shows on The CW with Arrow and The Flash.
Mystery Inc. feature teenagers solving crimes and mysteries
Scooby-Doo! was created in 1969 by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears and features teenagers investigating supernatural mysteries and solving crimes. Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley and Shaggy Rogers and their talking Great Dane Scooby-Doo make up the “gang” known as Mystery Inc.
An animated Velma series currently airs on the Max streaming service and just finished its second season, with Mindy Kaling; however, an episode revealed the real Velma still exists along with the real Daphne. Apparently, the series also kills off Velma at the hands of Scrappy-Doo.

There have been various animated series and movies that have aired throughout the years. The show is also known for its signature guest stars including Batman, Don Knotts, KISS, and more.
A pair of live-action movies was released in 2002 (written by James Gunn) and the sequel in 2004 and they’re generally well-received.
