The update comes via Twitter from a reporter for Variety who states Kidman apparently had a scheduling conflict.
It’s noted that Wright, who is already confirmed for Wonder Woman, may play the character meant for Kidman instead of whatever character Wright was originally set to play.
It’s also possible Cate Blanchett may have been up for the same role; however, it’s now said Blanchett is being courted for Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok.
Wonder Woman has a June 23, 2017 release directed by Patty Jenkins starring Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Captain Steve Trevor, with Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis , Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis in unknown roles.
Not big enough for a story but here’s a twitter scoop for all you Wonder Woman folks..

As you know Kidman’s dates didn’t work out so they are trying to figure out whether to just give Robin Wright that role or find another star

Don’t know what role Wright currently has but it isn’t Hippolyta like others believed, it’s actually another role

In fact Wright’s deal for her unknown role had closed before Kidman even had an offer, so we’ll just have to see what ends up happening
