Pokemon Live-Action Movie Getting Fast-Tracked

Following the insane success of the Pokemon Go App, a live-action Pokemon movie is now being fast-tracked for a 2017 release date.

China’s Legendary Entertainment has aquired the rights to the Pokemon movie, which according to THR, will be based on Detective Pikachu, a new character in the Pokemon universe.

No other plot details are known.

The Pokemon Go App recently launched on July 6th and quickly skyrocketed to the top of the App store charts. The App enables users to find and capture Pokemon in real time and do battle and get upgrades.

The next Pokemon game comes out for the 3DS with Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon. It’s also a popular table card game which was first created back in 1995.
