Warner Bros. has released high-res images from the upcoming Pokemon Detective Pikachu movie which includes a look at the titular character with Justice Smith as Tim Goodman.
The Pokemon company also released images and information about the movie-related merchandise offering a look at Pikachu, Charizard and Greninja.

The first-ever live-action PokĂ©mon adventure, âPOKĂMON Detective Pikachuâ stars Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu, the iconic face of the global PokĂ©mon phenomenonâone of the worldâs most popular, multi-generation entertainment properties and the most successful media franchise of all time.

âPOKĂMON Detective Pikachuâ also stars Justice Smith (âJurassic World: Fallen Kingdomâ) as Tim; Kathryn Newton (âLady Bird,â TVâs âBig Little Liesâ) as Lucy, a junior reporter following her first big story; and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe (âGodzilla,â âThe Last Samuraiâ) as Lt. Yoshida.
Directed by Rob Letterman (âGoosebumps,â âMonsters Vs. Aliensâ), the âPOKĂMON Detective Pikachuâ creative filmmaking team includes two-time Oscar nominated director of photography John Mathieson (âThe Phantom of the Opera,â âGladiatorâ), production designer Nigel Phelps (âPirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Liesâ) and Oscar-winning editor Mark Sanger (âGravityâ). Visual effects are by Moving Picture Company (âWonder Womanâ) and Framestore (âGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2â).

âPOKĂMON Detective Pikachuâ is set for release on Friday, May 10, 2019.
The film will be distributed outside of Japan and China by Warner Bros. Pictures, in Japan by Toho Company, Ltd. and by Legendary East in China.
