Back in March saw it confirmed that DC is making a New Gods movie with A Wrinkle In Time director Ava DuVernay directing and developing the project.
Now while participating in a Twitter Q&A, Ava DuVernay offers an update for the flick.
“New Gods is in early development and feeling good,” DuVernay said in a tweet.
DuVernay also revealed she is the one who requested to make the New Gods movie, and that WB gave the approval.
“I actually said, ‘Hey Guys, I wanna make a New Gods movie.’ Then someone said ok,” DuVernay revealed.

No other details are known about the New Gods movie, which is based on the characters created by Jack Kirby, but it has been said to be standalone and have no connection to the other DC worlds being exploited for film.
Last December also saw DuVernay respond to a fan question about her favorite super hero, where she mentioned a character from New Gods with Big Barda, who in the comics is the wife to Mister Miracle.
“Gosh, that’s hard. Big Barda. Many reasons,” DuVernay said.
