Today marks the 10-year anniversary since the new Doctor Who debuted with Christopher Eccleston as the 9th Doctor.
The episode, titled “Rose,” also saw the introduction of the new companion, Rose Tyler, played by Billie Piper.
Russell T. Davies wrote the script with Keith Boak directing, which saw the return of the classic Doctor Who monsters, the Autons, who first appeared back in 1970.
The BBC also released a special ten-year anniversary video of Eccleston and Piper’s first big scene, which can be watched below.
Doctor Who will return in the Fall with the 9th series starring Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman.
