Matt Bomer Not Given Man of Steel Superman Role Because He’s Gay?

American actor Matt Bomer actually screen tested for the role of Superman two times.

Bomer was attached to a previous Superman film that never came to be, “Superman: Flyby,” and he was also attached to the latest with the Man of Steel.

He donned the Superman suit and read lines with Amy Adams, who portrayed and eventually landed the role of Lois Lane.

Speaking with Sirius Radio back in March of 2011 (video below), Matt Bomer said that the Superman role never came to be because he wasn’t “available.”

He said he didn’t have the time to take a year off to put on 50lbs. that was required for the role.

However, a new report has surfaced that the real reason Matt Bomer didn’t get the Superman role was that he’s gay.

Bomer recently announced he was gay in February 2012 as he acknowledged his partner while accepting an award.

Now, novelist Jackie Collins, the younger sister of actress Joan Collins, states that she has inside Hollywood information that says Bomer was passed on because he is gay, during an interview with GayDar Radio.

He had not come out of the closet but people in the know knew he was gay. His audition tape went in and he called up the agent. Someone didn’t like him and told them he was gay. They said, “No, no, we can’t cast you.” The reason he didn’t get cast was because he was gay.

I think it should change but there are women out there who want to worship somebody. If Justin Bieber said he was gay, he’d lose all his little girl fans.

It’s a sad fact of life. So a lot of them get married, have a couple of kids and pretend to be straight.

We do know that English actor Henry Cavill was given the role of the new Superman, and it could just be that Henry Cavill beat out Matt Bomer fair-and-square, but there is a resemblance between the two which can’t be missed.
