Infinity Gauntlet is the six-issue comic book series written by Starlin back in 1991 that saw the Mad Titan Thanos achieve god-hood when he aquired all six of the Infinity Gems. It features a vast array of Marvel characters ranging from the Marvel Cosmic heavyweights to the Marvel street level good guys (and some bad guys!). While Marvel Studios isn't doing a full on adaptation, Infinity Gauntlet is a big inspiration for the MCU with their Infinity Stones and upcoming Infinity War movies with Thanos.
I recently reread Infinity Gauntlet on a trip to NYC and it definitely stands the test of time (no time gem needed!). If you are not familiar with the story or haven't read it, it's an all-time classic, and I highly suggest you get a copy (16 bucks on Amazon; get it by Friday).
The Avengers: Infinity War has a May 4, 2018 release directed by Joe and Anthony Russo starring Josh Brolin as Thanos. Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce the cast, but the following are thought/confirmed to be a part of the movie: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Tom Holland and Brie Larson.
