[[wysiwyg_imageupload:8706:]]Zack Snyder’s new Superman movie, Man of Steel, has started off to a super start in the Philippines as it’s reported the movie has broken the previous opening day record held by Iron Man 3 in April.
Man of Steel has raked in $1.7 million in the Philippines accounting for over 90% of the box office share.
Iron Man 3 earned $1.45 million in its opening day in the Philippines.
Today sees the Man of Steel advanced screenings premiere at 7pm through a promotion at Walmart, with the movie launching nationwide officially at midnight in 4,207 locations, a majority of which are 3D.
Early tracking for the movie by industry analysts pegs Man of Steel having anywhere between an $80 million opening weekend to $100 million and up.
Man of Steel opens June 14th in IMAX 3D directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Michael Shannon as Zod.
