Maleficent 2 Filming Underway

Disney takes to social media to announce that filming on Maleficent 2 is underway and announced the cast with Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Maleficent 2 is the sequel to the hit movie from 2014 that is a take on the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale story.

Elle Fanning also took to Instagram to tease involvement with the film.

Maleficent 2 picks up several years after the original film and follows Maleficent and Princess Aurora as they “form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.”

Michelle Pfeiffer is playing Queen Ingrith, Harris Dickinson has been cast as Prince Phillip, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ed Skrein, and Robert Lindsay are also joining the cast, with Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville returning.

Maleficent 2 is being directed by Joachim Rønning, who is known for co-directing Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
