Mackenzie Davis In Talks For Terminator 6; Linda Hamilton Returns

Following Arnold Schwarzenegger recently offering an update on the start of production, now casting for Terminator 6 is made known.

Variety reports Mackenzie Davis is in talks to star in the sixth Terminator movie, which will also see Arnold Schwarzenegger return as a T-800, as well as Linda Hamilton who returns from T2 as Sarah Connor.

Mackenzie Davis is being looked at to play one of the new faces of rebooted franchise, in the vein of Schwarzenegger’s robotic assassin, with it hoped that Davis would be able to take over from Linda Hamilton.

It’s noted director Tim Miller and James Cameron are looking for a protagonist who would take over for Hamilton’s character, and that sources say Mackenzie Davis has been the studio and Tim Miller’s top choice for a while, but the casting decision is needed to be signed off by James Cameron, who has been busy with the the Avatar sequels.

Details for the plot of Terminator 6 look to include that it will be a sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day, and that the movies following T2 will be ignored.

James Cameron, who is overseeing the project, also previously said Terminator 6 will investigate why the machines chose the character and body of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the model for their Terminators.

Mackenzie Davis recently starred in Logan’s Run.

The new Terminator movie has a current release date of July 26, 2019, with a story from Cameron, Miller, and Skydance producer David Ellison, with  the current script being polished by Billy Ray (The Hunger Games).
