It’s learned Fox is rebooting The League Of Extraordinary Gentleman, which is based on the Alan Moore comic book and saw a movie starring Sean Connery back in 2003.
Variety reboots The League Of Extraordinary Gentleman movie reboot will see John Davis (The Blacklist, Chronicle, I, Robot) on board to produce through his Davis Entertainment banner.
Ira Napoliello (Mr. Popper’s Penguins) and Matt Reilly are stated to be overseeing the remake, which centers on Victorian-era literary characters such as Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde who team up to fight a common enemy.
At one time a League Of Extraordinary Gentleman TV series was in development from Green Lantern writer Michael Green, but the show never made it to series.
The 2003 film starred Sean Connery as Allan Quatermain; however, it failed to make its mark with audiences as it only netted barely $180 million worldwide.
