When the Justice League assembles this November it will be without Perry White.
In an interview while promoting John Wick 2, Laurence Fishburne, who played the editor of the Daily Planet in Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman, lets it be known he won't be appearing in Justice League.
"They asked me to come for a day, but I couldn’t work it out, schedule-wise. And really, what do you need the newspaperman in Justice League for?" Fishburne told the LA Times.
Fishburne continues with mention that he is a big comic book fan and drops Green Lantern's name as a character that he wants to see appear in the movie. Now while it may seem as if Laurence Fishburne is confirming Green Lantern in Justice League, that doesn't appear to be the case (though Green Lantern has been rumored).
"You want to see the Flash. You want to see Aquaman. You want to see Wonder Woman. You want to see the Lantern," Fishburne said. "We’ve been waiting 35 years for these [characters] to show up on the screen. What were they doing over there? Marvel has been kicking their ass. This is the comic-book geek in me, who has a collection of comic books. I’ve been waiting to see these people on-screen forever."
Laurence Fishburne also comments on the negative reaction to Batman vs. Superman.
"Look, I love what Zack Snyder does. Jesse Eisenberg, this little nebbishy guy, as Lex Luthor? For me, that’s a genius move. And the whole thing with Martha Kent and Martha Wayne? I don’t know, man, I must be sentimental but that’s some heartwarming [stuff] to me. So I don’t get it," Fishburne said.
John Wick 2 is now in theaters; Justice League has a November 17, 2017 release.
