Justice League opens in less than two months time and an early estimate of the film’s box office opening weekend has hit the net suggesting it will be pretty big.
I’m actually thinking the number is on the small side as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opened to $166 million, and Justice League is following the success of Wonder Woman, plus fans are eager to see what becomes of Henry Cavill’s Superman.
I suppose the question whether or not the fans show up for Justice League depends if they are still sour from Batman vs. Superman, which a lot of fans weren’t too thrilled with. The Rotten Tomatoes score could also factor into the success of Justice League, at least down the road. I’m guessing no matter what the Justice League Rotten Tomato score comes in at that the hard core fans will still show up for opening weekend, and then when word-of-mouth hits, we’ll see if Justice League is a good movie and has legs.
Depending how you look at things, another bonus for Justice League could be the addition of Joss Whedon. It’s no secret Joss Whedon’s Marvel movies have been a huge success – especially The Avengers – so having Joss Whedon putting his “two cents” into Justice League definitely can’t be looked at as a bad thing.
What are your guesses for the Justice League box office? Let us know in the comments below. We’re thinking – much like Henry Cavill’s Superman – the sky is the limit!
Justice League has a November 17, 2017 release directed by Zack Snyder, with the story by Chris Terrio and Zack Snyder, the screenplay by Chris Terrio and Joss Whedon, and stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Willem Dafoe an Atlantean, Nuidis Vulko.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
