John Williams Done With Star Wars With Episode IX

Legendary composer John Williams lets it be known Episode IX will be his last Star Wars movie.

Speaking with Classical KUSC, John Williams, who has worked on the Star Wars movies for the past 40 years, says he is done after Episode IX.

“We know J.J. Abrams is preparing one now that I will hopefully do next year for him,” Williams said. “I look forward it. It will round out a series of nine, that will be quite enough for me.”

John Williams recently provided the music score for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and also contributed the opening theme for the upcoming release of Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The 86-year-old Oscar-award winning composer is also up for another Oscar for Star Wars: The Last Jedi this year.
