John Wick Spinoff Will Star Donnie Yen

John Wick Spinoff Will Star Donnie Yen

A new John Wick spinoff is happening and it will star Donnie Yen as Caine who starred alongside Keanu Reeves recently in the fourth movie.

The flick will start to film in Hong Kong in 2025 and will follow the events of John Wick: Chapter 4, as Caine has been freed from his obligations to the High Table (after seemingly killing John Wick).

The project has no director attached as of yet;  Chad Stahelski is developing the movie as part of his recent deal with Lionsgate that gave him creative oversite over the franchise.

“Working on John Wick: Chapter 4 was an extraordinary experience. The reason these films resonate so deeply is because, like myself, Chad, Basil and Erica push themselves to create action, fights and stunts that are not only thrilling, inventive and artistic, but also expressive of character, story and emotion. Caine is an incredible character with a haunted past, and I am excited to return to the role,” Yen said in a statement.

“From the moment Donnie Yen appeared on screen in John Wick: Chapter 4, he captivated audiences and created an authentic, emotional connection that left an inedible mark and had fans asking for more,” Adam Fogelson, chair of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said in a statement.

The Ballerina is also in development starring Ana de Armas which recently saw its release date pushed back by a year to “to add additional action sequences for the movie, to amp it up even more than it is.”
