We might not be seeing John Cena any more in the WWE after his devastating loss to Roman Reigns last night, but maybe we’ll see John Cena in the DCEU!
John Cena is currently rumored to play Captain Marvel in the Shazam movie, and interestingly enough while discussing his possible retirement from the WWE universe last night on “RAW Talks” name-drops none other than Batman!
“I eat, breathe and sleep WWE. And I don’t think anybody whether they like me or they don’t, I don’t think anybody can argue that,” John Cena said. “So, I guess I will be like a weird Batman character. When they shine the light, I’ll come a running.”
John Cena remarks that he may have other opportunities outside the WWE, and he is probably referring to Hollywood. John Cena was recently featured in The Wall and will be starring in the upcoming Transformers Bumblebee spinoff movie. At one time, John Cena was even rumored to cameo in Thor: Ragnarok as a potential gladiator champion.
Regarding the Shazam movie, no actor has yet been cast in the role of Captain Marvel, but fellow WWE Superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be playing Captain Marvel’s nemesis, Black Adam. Perhaps we’ll see John Cena vs The Rock on the big screen as Captain Marvel vs Black Adam?
