With the first The Avengers movie being so popular, you would think Marvel Studios would give each of the characters a spinoff movie. After all, Scarlett Johansson went to star in the Lucy movie which outperformed both Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor (and wasn't even a "Marvel" movie), but no word of a Black Widow movie getting made has been mentioned by Kevin Feige.
Likewise, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye is another popular and fan-favorite character, but Kevin Feige has offered nothing in regards to anything more for Hawkeye other than appearances in the main MCU event movies.
Now while speaking with the Edmonton Sun, Jeremy Renner does say that he would love to do a Hawkeye and Black Widow film, and from the sound of it, Renner wishes it would have already happened, just like a lot of fans.
“I always thought it would make sense early on to do a Hawkeye/Widow movie because they’re quite similar – they don’t have powers, have high skill sets, and have history together," Renner said.
Jeremy Renner continues with mention that, unfortunately, there are currently no talks about the team-up.
"But I don’t think there are any discussions about that happening,” Renner said. “I’d love to do it though.”
The good news is that both Jeremy Renner and Scarlett Johansson will be a part of The Avengers: Infinity War and The Avengers 4.
“We’ve shot in London but it’s hard for all of us to be away from our families so we’re doing the next two back-to-back in Atlanta,” Renner said.
Hopefully Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios will come to their senses and give fans a Black Widow and Hawkeye movie. It does seem a no-brainer as the film would probably do better than even Ant-Man, Black Panther and Captain Marvel.
"The Avengers: Infinity War" has a May 4, 2018 release starring Josh Brolin as Thanos. Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce the cast, but the following are thought/confirmed to be a part of the movie: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Tom Holland and Brie Larson.
