Back last July saw it found out that Jeremy Renner had injured both of his arms while filming a movie, with it reported to be either on the set of The Avengers 4 or Tag.
It’s since revealed that the actor broke both his arms while filming Tag, which is leading to some speculation as the reason why Jeremy Renner didn’t appear in The Avengers: Infinity War as the movies filmed at the same time. The reason Hawkeye wasn’t in Infinity War was explained away as the character retired so that his family would be spared further investigation following the events from Captain America: Civil War.
Now while appearing on Ellen, his Tag co-star Jon Hamm talks about the injury the Hawkeye-actor suffered.
“We had several on-set injuries. The most notable being… I was not there that day, so it’s impossible to blame this on me… Jeremy Renner who broke both of his arms at the same time, day three of production,” Hamm said. “We had 40 more days to go. Keep in mind this is a man who’s done a hundred Avengers movies and been fine. And he does a movie about playing tag… both arms, like firewood, just snapped like a matchstick.”
Jon Hamm also revealed that production wasn’t shut down, but that Jeremy Renner wore green screen casts.
“No. He wore green screen casts that we eventually painted out in the edit,” Hamm said.
Jeremy Renner has teased involvement in The Avengers 4, as apparently Hawkeye sports a new hair cut, so hopefully Renner will be making his MCU return next year.
